anyone who has ever had to attend a funeral for someone they love knows that 9 times out of 10, you will be in shock for it. nothing will seem real & you quite literally have to put on that fake smile until everything settles in. leave this woman alone. everyone grieves differently.
rest in love mommy🕊️

yea this whole commentary is weird. people grieve in different ways, and seeing all of their loved ones coming out and showing love for their mom would also put a smile on my face through the pain.

Wow this breaks my heart, are they saying she shouldn’t have dressed up for her mother’s funeral ? Whoaaaaa she can’t smile ? Do they not realize the mixed emotions you have laying a parent to rest. . . & since when did we not pick a color and the family dressed accordingly and looks nice ; hmmm yeah the internet is weird asf ! Lord give this girl the strength to keep going cause even when you smile deep down inside she has lonely nights , those first birthdays , holidays etc she won’t be able to call her mother. . . Ugh 😩 until you felt the pain of sitting in the front row for a parent please STFU

Facts it feel like you're in lala land.. I smiled and held it together because thats what mom would want but once I got alone it wasnt like that believe me...

the way people suddenly become grief experts the second a camera is on them is so exhausting. just say youve never lost anyone and go.

absolutely! she’s so strong for being able to put on a smile cause when it was my best friend i cried the whole time. i didn’t even wanna be talked to normally cause ts wasn’t normal. she’s genuinely doing so great and i hope she gets to heal. fuck the internet!

Yes, people grieve in different ways. But it’s the posting on social media like it’s a regular post that’s odd. And I have two dead parents so I understand grief
16
even with the veil over her eyes, i still don't see that smile reach her eyes. so much pain behind them 🥺💔

Lies i cried before during and after the funeral couldnt even talk and planned it so i be confused too how people be smiling but maybe i just dont handle death well
50
Correct! Ppl are weird!

Fr, she has to deal with it not only this one day but for the REST of her life. Shit hit different. Have to smile from crying all the time . May God be with her
57
like she lost her mother, the only one she’ll ever have in this lifetime. that’s a feeling some of us have experienced and some haven’t. i just wish ppl understood that grief comes in many forms and not just sadness. only God knows what emotions came over her after these pics.

My grandpa went to what I thought was a funeral but he called it a celebration of life which I’ve never heard before I thought it was so bittersweet

She probably dissociated

I’ve learned as a POC taking photos at a funeral is like in the top 5 things that will happen . Now the posing and such that’s not for me to say . If you like it, I love it.

i smiled on so many people's face when my mama died
14
the fact that people even feel comfortable to have discourse on that ?????????
99
very well said! no has the right to tell someone how they should grieve.

It really sinks in once everyone goes back to their regular lives.
58
Especially if, and idk the story, her mom was sick and she’s had time to prepare…sometimes knowing your person is at peace is enough
75
She also said she was touched seeing how everyone showed up to celebrate her mother. That’s beautiful and something totally normal to smile at.

I’m confused because I smiled in every funeral pic I ever took. Are we not celebrating their life?
81
I’ve only been to 1 funeral that deeply hurt me and I forgot why I was there. Your brain has a weird way of numbing you

100% & I’m glad this girl even had the opportunity for her family to take pics, love on her, give her an opportunity to look pretty and feel supported.

I didn't cry when my grandma passed , everyone was shocked but when I went back to my home country 2 yrs later, I broke down. It was so bad )): I tried so hard to not breakdown when it first happened that it built up.

Ain't no telling how many tears she probably shed privately. A picture means nothing.
83
The fact that she had to explain to someone else why she was smiling 💔
63
thank you, someone with sense.
