How are my sins ever going to be washed away? All of my sins, past, present, future? Today's? Tomorrow's? No amount of repentance, resolve, or saying the right words can make me clean. I need Jesus. The cross. His promise. And in the waters of Baptism, He washes us Himself! He buries the sinner with Him and raises us to new life. Or else I die. #JesusPlusNothingEqualsEverything

“God has given me another offspring.” That’s the same “offspring” word used in the Promise of Genesis 3:15. God has gifted another offspring, another seed. Eve is quoting the promise in naming her new son. She’s doubling down on the Promise. She’s holding God to his word. In the wake of a double tragedy, one son a murderer, the other son dead, Eve does not give up on the Promise. Because God had not let go of Eve. Eve had forgiveness. Eve had a promise. That's Jesus FOR YOU. All. Day. Long. #JesusHasYou
