It didnโt โturn into a memecoinโ the people with memecoin money went to play the game elsewhere and donโt know the hobby so theyโre holding bags
Same will happen now with many people in stocks
Throwing thousands doesnโt equal ball knowledge
In September a friend bought this Skyridge Machamp during the vintage hype for 5k with the intention of flipping. I told him he should immediately send to auction, since it would take 2 weeks to go live and it's difficult to time the top on these market squeezes
His response was "I'm going to wait until it hits 40k". Here's the problem I have with this logic - try to picture who is going to buy this card for 40k...
- Billionaires might, but there's only ~5 of them bidding for their collections and once they have them they'll move on to the next card
- Pop 184 means it's liquid enough to recover quickly after a squeeze
- Normal collectors either can't afford paying this much or will find better value elsewhere
- Alleged family office / institutional funds are here to make money, and any competent manager wouldn't want to buy the top
So all that leaves are other speculators who are trying to ride the train and dump on the next poor soul without thinking through the underlying value
How did this turn out? He sent it to auction a couple weeks ago when prices started dropping, but pulled it when things started crashing so it's now waiting in the vault. Price peaked at 30k and is now sitting at 4k
Pokemon has highkey turned into memecoin trading, and a lot of speculators are learning an expensive lesson in upnl vs realized gains
How is this reality

Repack apocalypse is upon us
An Ace Hardware location reportedly stopped selling sealed Pokรฉmon packs and is now making their own $4.99 โrepacksโ instead
According to the store, the employee making them is a lifelong collector who โknows what heโs doingโ
Iโm sure having someone who knows exactly what every card is worth hand-pick the contents of your mystery pack will end wonderfully ๐ญ
Would you buy this?

No one outside of paid off pump shills wants these celeb coins or for kols to become 'celebs' and extract even more from the plebs
Every coin has pumpdex fees, pumpswap, terminal or bot fees, creator rewards, cashback, call out rewards, etc
It is endless extraction, taking money out of coins and giving it to deployers, bundlers and kols, making the slice of the pie plebs have access to ever smaller
But it's the plebs that make this space - without them - there's nothing to extract
But you are bleeding us dry
Meanwhile yourself and others have taken huge paid deals from pump, when instead you have the platform to lead us to a better way if you wanted to
Robinhood took marketshare from pump and sol and the market was great, now the market share has gone back to pump and we are all getting farmed to zero again
This is because pump only cares about spending money to generate fees through their ecosystem. They don't care about coins that people hold because they don't make anything from it. They need pnds for their revenue. With each pnd deploy a huge amount is extracted from the trenches, never to be seen again. This is not sustainable. And it's why it's rare to see coins on pump go to a high mc. It's a race to the bottom
Where is the airdrop? Will you start advocating for it again? Or do the plebs have to give it up so 'celeb' kols can get paid?
