@LondonMarathon is on 2/10/2022. A paper published @acm_chi by researchers @uclic provides an understanding of the Shared Experience of Runners and Spectators: How do #spectators support and empathize with runners? How do #runners acknowledge spectators' supporting efforts?

#writing #phdlife it's common to feel frustrated with writing & revising? Help ourselves like how we help others by being - enthusiastic - genuine & generous - critical but not harsh - kind & encouraging - nonjudgemental - progress & solution-oriented - efficient and strategic

I found myself often enjoying sitting on the train watching trees and the field slowly going backward and passing by me. I like the feeling of seeing things moving to a degree that the clarity still exists. I can still see their lines, border, shapes, colours, motion, etc.

They are moving yet changing. It’s a comfortable mixture feeling of dynamics & changes, but with order, peace, and control. Perceptually, it just feels the changing speed of time and space are synced. Together with the tunes around my ears, they contribute a nice sense of low.

we might get overwhelmed by all our own thoughts and find it difficult to accept other people's opinions. It's difficult for the brain to decomposite its structure and rebuilt it. You might agree more easily with a fresh mind.
Often unconscious fatigue or tension in the body affects the mental flow e.g. when writing a paper. Some stretching or a nap can quickly remove them. We often say body-mind connection in sports, I thought doing a PhD is about body-mind connection as well #PhdDiary #PhdJourney

Treating PhD as a learning journey, not a production line. Often when looking backward you regret how little you knew and wish you had known more so that you could have made your research better. But eventually, you learned. #PhdJourney #PhdDiary

Is this typical for other PhD students #phdadvice #phdanxiety Midnight’s reflections on the unproductive past and uncertain future?

The beautiful research dream crashes, sometimes, when you start to think about study design in reality and in the wild.

Problems visit every day, hour, even minute. Calm down, gradually learn not be surprised, annoyed, or panicking. Also, probably better not assume the world is always beautiful order by nature. Acknowledge it, accept it, and deal with it without over judgement #phdlife #everyday
