LEAKER FIRED: Pete Hegseth removes senior Pentagon strategist Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia amid an investigation into alleged leaks of classified information about the Iran war, Russia's war in Ukraine and other sensitive matters.
A Department of War official told Fox News that Sylvia failed three polygraph examinations tied to the alleged disclosures and that the investigation has been referred to the Justice Department. Sylvia is also accused of meeting journalists outside the Pentagon to pass along classified material.

BREAKING via NYT: In 2016 the Obama admin investigated Ilhan Omar and found “some evidence” she entered a sham marriage with a man suspected of being her brother. Felony charges stalled due to the statute of limitations.
Obama just called the Trump admin’s probe into her “appalling.”
The same allegations his own administration looked into.
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

What is “Ranked Choice Voting?”

Ranked choice voting (RCV), also called instant-runoff voting (IRV), lets voters rank candidates in order of preference (1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice, and so on) instead of picking only one.
How It Works:
In a typical single-winner race:
1. Voters rank as many (or as few) candidates as they want. Ranking a lower choice does not hurt your top choice—it only comes into play if your higher choices are eliminated.
2. Officials count the first-choice votes. If one candidate gets more than 50%, they win immediately.
3. If no one has a majority, the candidate with the fewest first-choice votes is eliminated.
4. Ballots that ranked the eliminated candidate first are transferred to each voter’s next-ranked choice still in the race.
5. The process repeats in rounds until one candidate has a majority of the continuing (still-active) ballots.
Ballots become “exhausted” (and stop counting) if every candidate the voter ranked has been eliminated before the final round. The winner is the one with majority support among the remaining active ballots.

Our world is not ending. Theirs IS.
I was driving down the street last night, the kind of quiet neighborhood where the porch lights are on and you can see straight into the front rooms if the curtains are open. Most of the houses looked the same as they always do. Warm light. People moving slow. In one window a family was gathered around the table, heads down, just sitting there. No TV screaming. No one pacing. In another the kids were doing homework while someone cooked. Ordinary. Steady.
Then there was the house a few doors down. Lights flashing between rooms. Someone out in the driveway loading boxes into the back of a car like the world was ending in the next ten minutes. You could see the tension in the way they moved. That one stuck with me.
I kept driving and the thought settled in. What if the difference between those houses is not that one family knows something the others do not, but that one family is still letting the fear run the show while the others already made the shift? What if the sudden messages telling everyone to prepare for power outages and disruptions are not a signal that our world is about to collapse, but the sound of their arrangements finally starting to break? The same people who spent years telling us everything was under control are now the ones hardening their own positions. That is not confidence. That is the recognition that the cover they relied on is about to come off.
What if the scramble we are watching right now is the same thing on a larger scale? The heavy reliance on one former president to close the argument. The quiet from the rest of the familiar names. The last-minute ballot tricks, like hunting for another person with the exact same name as a sitting senator so they can put him on the ballot and hope enough people get confused. That is not the behavior of a side that still believes it controls the outcome. That is the behavior of a side that already ran the numbers.
What if a red tsunami on Tuesday does not end our world at all, but begins the end of theirs? The systems, the networks, the pipelines, and the protections they built only function while they hold the institutions. Once that hold is gone, the prior arrangements face exposure. The ones who treated continuity as permanent are the ones who suddenly have something real to lose. That is why the demons are mad. Not because they still run the board. Because they can see the window closing.
What if being prepared is simply the adult thing you do when you understand that possibility? Stock the basics. Know your local situation. Have a short plan for power or supply if something flares. It will not last long for us if anything extraordinary even happens, because the people who are mad are mad precisely because their time is running out. The fear is loud right now only because some of us came in late and the noise has not yet settled.
I looked back at those calm windows one more time before I turned the corner. From where I sit-God has been in control the entire time, and the only thing that changed is that their cover is finally coming off. Once you see it that way, the scramble stops looking like the end of the world and starts looking like the end of their world. The preparedness stops looking like a threat and starts looking like ordinary readiness while their arrangements finish breaking. And the fear loses its grip, because you realize you do not have to carry the weight of their collapse.
That is the shift. Not more noise. A clearer picture. God is in control. Their cover is coming off. Our world is not ending. Theirs Is.
