Ohad: “Verification is old news. The real deal is synthesis.”
Elon points at the same destination.
Tau’s breakthroughs means stating formal requirements to synthesize software satisfying them, and guarantee it meets the specification across every input.
1/3 David Castro tackled two snags in Tau Language on 16 October: an optional solver setting that blocked a verdict, and data being reused before a nested check finished.
Useful fixes for developers testing rules. Both are in development.
2/3 A solver option was sent under the wrong name, leaving checks UNKNOWN. David fixed the flag and added clear errors for invalid settings. In development; docs still flag SAT-mode failures in Spot 2.15.1.

3/3 Nested checks keep an intermediate result alive while working memory is reused. David's fix stops this solver path from reading recycled data. In development; a small working table can still leave the check undecided.

Sunday, 12:00 UTC: a chess engine that cannot bluff plays Claude Sonnet 5.5 with extended thinking — live. One side thinks in words. The other in decided statements you can read line by line. If it loses, you'll see exactly why.

Tau Net is designed to upgrade, and that's the future. It means, security, ethics, finance, and everything that matters to you can be at the cutting edge of science before anything else.
Many of the ideas in fields such as finance, governance, economy and security are under utilized in blockchain. Tau Net changes that. We can onboard great experts and institutions to propose upgrades to make the best blockchain, alongside the users!
Blockchain upgrades usually require new software and a coordinated restart across all nodes.
Tau Net introduces technology that allows a blockchain to amend itself without a hard fork, client updates, or downtime.
This demo shows how Tau Net users can upgrade the network's consensus mechanism simply by stating their requirements and agreeing to them.
You can change the law of the Tau Net blockchain right inside a block, ushering in a new era of blockchain and software governance capabilities.
Showcasing Pointwise Revision:
Pointwise Revision is a built-in mechanism that jointly takes new software requirements and the current specification as input. Then outputs a program that consistently satisfies both the new requirement and the maximum of the previous specification.
This allows software to update correctly according to given rules, and it is all handled by providing only the required changes to the software.

Formal Verification Tools vs. Tau Language
Traditional approach
1. Write a program.
2. Write a specification.
3. Prove the program satisfies the specification.
Tau Language
1. Write the specification.
2. Program is synthesized automatically.
3. Revise the specification as requirements evolve. Tau automatically synthesizes the corresponding correct-by-construction program.
Enabled by Tau Language’s unique ability to reason about its own sentences, allowing systems to evolve without sacrificing formal guarantees.

A constitution that runs — now in 11 parts. Self-amending law in the Tau Language: a core no amendment can remove, GG Art. 79(3) mechanized, and a proved answer to "who amends the amendment rule?" Every claim is a query you can run yourself.

Vericoding without a specification language designed for users is just formal methods with extra steps.
Tau Language is built decidable, executable, and the only spec language with self-referential formal reasoning.
Users refine requirements, not code. The machine handles the rest.
A currently executing specification can receive an arbitrary Tau specification as an update, verify that the resulting specification is satisfiable, and integrate the update into the existing specification via an operation we're calling pointwise revision.

100% agree. Let the winners win. Truthfully, it should be the same for all manners of progress.

In code generation, the difference between 99% correctness and 100% guaranteed correctness is everything. It's where trust and safety reside. Without that, you limit adoption and ultimately scale.
You need trust (proofs) and safety to have global level scale.
Musk envisions robots watching our kids, caring for elderly parents.
"...assuming it's safe."
Safety can't be assumed for mission-critical tasks; we need mathematical certainty.
Their software will require logical AI and a language that can:
- Formally specify what "safe" means for YOUR situation.
- Reason about its own behavior without paradox.
- Reject updates that violate existing safety constraints.
It requires Tau Language (the only language capable of doing so).

As 2025 winds down for most, the Tau team is still making commits!
We've made some incredible progress together and would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support means more than you could imagine.
Highlights of 2025 include:
- Released Tau Testnet repository publicly, marking trackable progress towards the first blockchain with automatic software development and logical consensus detection.
- Granted multiple patents, including a USPTO patent for safe AI systems through Boolean algebra theories.
- Monadic Second Order Logic extended to work over Atomless Boolean Algebras - "a first in history".
- Extended a fragment of first-order logic larger than LTL, making Tau more powerful.
- SAT Solver Migratio: Switched from Z3 to CVC5, unlocking better normalization and satisfiability checking
- Optimization efforts achieved 60% performance boost in the parser.
- Developed Android developer wallet with client-side validation for Tau rules.
- Ohad Asor featured on Machine Learning Street Talk podcast (200k+ subscribers), discussing Tau Language's revolutionary approach to software synthesis.
- Shifted business strategy to become the premier DAO and Project launch platform, sharing our technology with permissive licensing and incentives to benefit builders, creators, and community members.
Looking Ahead to 2026:
We plan to advance to Tau Net's Testnet Alpha launch, expand testnet capabilities, add developer tools, and foster a collaborative ecosystem.
Our roadmap includes continued enhancements to Tau Language performance, public development showcases, and $AGRS utility-based mechanisms designed to support participation and network engagement.
A huge thank you to our amazing community for the support and collaboration. Your enthusiasm drives us forward every day!
Happy Holidays from the Tau Team! 🎄
