Take a look at this @BobBlackman . Many are suffering as a result of this retrospective action by #HMRC #LoanCharge
LCAG has written to James Bowler, Permanent Secretary and Principal Accounting Officer at Treasury with significant concerns following disclosure of 41 DSI (death, serious injury) referrals by HMRC to @policeconduct. Now on record that @hmtreasury aware of shocking statistic.

Well this is quite corrupt that large corporate get sweet deals @BobBlackman and yet the individual citizens are chased for more than 100% hounding them to death by #HMRC for the same. No “independent” review which is just a sham. #LoanChargeScandal Yet u patronise me with lies!!
🚨BREAKING NEWS: Huge new FOI revelation in the #LoanChargeScandal raised by @gregsmith_uk in #TreasuryQuestions exposing #HMRC’s 15% settlement deal with large companies in 2015, as reported by Ray McCann to Lord Morse in 2019. All the while ruthlessly persecuting contractors.

This is not a review at all but merely a “review” for sake of placating that “something” aka “nothing” is actually being done about it. The sham review already is a foregone conclusion and independent is just a word here with review carried out by HMRC sympathizer 🤦🏻‍♂️🙇‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Has to be a really independent #LoanCharge review & not a “independent” like previous one where #HMRC had a hand in as well & no other views were sought. @BobBlackman

One day I hope to see Mel Stride, the liar, in similar dock for tragedies caused by his #LoanChargeScandal . #LoanChargeSuicides caused by this. And he has knowingly and wrongfully pushed this thru. Tories days are now numbered.
Paula Vennells claimed she was a victim today at the Post Office Inquiry. She received £3m in bonuses alone and a CBE. She was never falsely accused of a crime, like she accused thousand of sub-postmasters. She never went to prison.

Ermmm what about the #LoanChargeScandal that you Mel(blocked me & many others), with lies & deceit, railroaded this thru govt which has resulted in #LoanChargeSuicides , bankruptcies & broken families? Yet u said this will have no impact. Last person to preach any1 on conduct.
MP @MelJStride describes Kenneth Clarke as a 'decent and nice man' but acknowledges that 'there are questions that need to be addressed' regarding his conduct in the infected blood inquiry. trib.al/cHMH7UD 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233 and YouTube

With such callousness #HMRC admit as if this is “business as usual”. They clearly know the impact of retrospective #LoanChargeScandal & its impact but yet chose to lie to govt about it. Now we have this. @Jeremy_Hunt @RishiSunak need to wake up. It’s sadly late for some already.
Shocking statistic as HMRC admit to referring 322 people to Samaritans, no doubt many #LoanChargeScandal victims. Many more will be suffering in silence. Time to end this scandal before more #LoanChargeSuicides @HuddlestonNigel @Jeremy_Hunt @RishiSunak! xitter.gq/MoneyTelegraph/status/…

Woah!!! Thought #HMRC stood in parliament and said they don’t see much hardship on those impacted by #LoanCharge faced with such demands? So what’s this about? Clearly they lied here just like when they passed the retrospective #LoanChargeScandal . @BobBlackman

This shows #HMRC using their powers “carelessly” hoping to catch out taxpayers who give up & pay or even worse tragic consequences due to such notices. No good withdrawing after damage has been done. @BobBlackman one to follow up if u do care. #LoanChargeScandal #LoanCharge
I have a limited update on the s684(7A)(b) letters which have been issued to catch the years taken out of the loan charge by the Morse review. HMRC seem to have withdrawn some, effectively allowing the taxpayer to win his/her appeal without the case going to the Tribunal. 1/4

Listening to this #PostOfficeScandal has so many parallels with #LoanChargeScandal where #HMRC say pay up now or face the consequences on the baseless #LoanCharge knowing that we can’t even fight it!! @Jeremy_Hunt . Already has tragic consequences. Apologies will be too late!

Now that you have mentioned Stride, his next action….block you. Stride doesn’t want to face the truth knowing how he lied to parliament, fudged around the truth & created the #LoanChargeScandal which has tragically resulted in #LoanChargeSuicides . good luck waiting for reply
Good morning @MelJStride I as someone who works with young entrepreneurs am deeply concerned about #LoanChargeSuicides #loanchargescandal I wrote to you sometime ago but not had a response so I am hoping your team will answer now I have tweeted you. Thanking you in anticipation

Thanks @WCountryVoices . Seems that the more you mess up as a Tory, u get promoted!!! Typical Tory’s. Stride was architect of retrospective #LoanChargeScandal which had led to suicides. He lied to parliament & yet not accountable. Read the article! I’d be fired if I did some!!

Thanks @SarahGreenLD . #HMRC have created tragic retrospective #LoanChargeScandal & unsurprisingly choosing to “ignore” Morse review elements they don’t like and use unprecedented powers like S684(7A) without any recourse to taxpayers. Wonder why needed #LoanCharge then🤷🏼‍♂️
The #LoanChargeScandal continues to ruin lives. I am pleased to join colleagues from across the political spectrum in writing to the Chancellor to raise HMRC's continuing disregard for the recommendations of the Morse Review

Well this seems like yet another tragic #HMRC mess #LoanChargeScandal unsurprisingly which has had even more tragic consequences with reported at least 10 suicides. @BobBlackman head in sand will not help but guess it’s Tory’s policy to ignore unjust retrospective #LoanCharge ?
A comprehensive destruction of HMRC's loan charge policy in the FT. Of 50k to 60k people affected, only 15k have settled with HMRC. Most of the remainder can't. HMRC's policy is a mixture of futility and brutality. Yet politicians refuse to reverse HMRC's approach 1/6

Thanks @gurpreetnarwan . many years “nightmare of journey” with #HMRC #LoanChargeScandal still continues. Clearly retrospective charge passed thru based on #HMRC lies & deceit with sadly tragic consequences & no end in sight. MPs just sit back & watch this tragedy @BobBlackman

Thank you Anne. With so much support, wondering why this is not getting any traction nor action with #HMRC to end this nightmare for years caused by unjust & retrospective #LoanChargeScandal#HMRC are just getting more aggressive issuing notices like S684(7A) . @LCAG_2019
Thank you so much Anne. This is a horrible situation for all those affected. @LCAG_2019

I hope you really take some action (not just words) about the retrospective #LoanChargeScandal that #HMRC are making up their own rules to their benefit as they go along. You are aware it has caused suicides, bankruptcies, broken families etc. @Jeremy_Hunt . Dragged for many yrs
☎️Constituency Calls ☎️ My first call was to Rosemary French, President of the Cranleigh Chamber of Commerce to talk about the planned changes to the High Street. She talked to me about the problems of the pavements not being wide enough, the huge success of street markets and the potential of Fountain Square. I then spoke to a Godalming resident about the loan charge and his concerns that it was an unfair form of retrospective taxation that could force him to sell his house. I then spoke to Steve Madincea, chair of Creative Surrey and neighbour of mine in Hambledon about how to get things done in the public sector. Finally I spoke to a lady from Godalming about eligibility for the government’s childcare offer which is not available if one parent is earning over £100k. That is an issue I would really like to sort out after the next election as I am aware that it is not huge salary in our area if you have a mortgage to pay.
