In ASX there is a shot at a Space Coast for Canada, owned totally by a Canadian company. It’s also a shot, as humanity funnels to the stars, to permanently turn Newfoundland and Labrador into a serious Space and Commercial Port. A dream of incalculable economic prosperity.
- Largest spaceport in Canada (by far) - Only 100% Canadian owned spaceport in Canada - Highest approved launch cadence in Canada - Safety distances to closest towns actually allow for medium lift vehicles - Vast majority privately funded - Built to prioritize Canadian launch vehicles not foreign ones - Does not rely on lobbying, push polls, and pay to play tricks

Canada needs a lunar rover asap. Our team is locked in and making it happen.
Past midnight on a Friday night, and TVAC testing doesn’t stop in our Space Systems Lab. The @Nord_Space team is built different. It’s built to win 🇨🇦

According to Statistics Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador’s economy grew faster than any other province last year, at +4.3%. We’re building on that momentum. This year, we signed the Bay du Nord benefits agreement, secured a new and better deal for Churchill Falls and Gull Island, and drew new bids in our offshore for the first time in years, all while backing a growing mining sector. Newfoundland and Labrador is ready to lead the way.

Yeah that tracks my journey from SaaS to Space
mechanical engineers: “wow that’s a lot of power” chemical engineers: “wow that’s a lot of energy” software developers: “wow what am i doing with my life”

This is going to be INCREDIBLY impactful in the next couple of decades. Highly recommend checking out if you're at first year at @MemorialU or will be soon. Future of the province is in Startups, Newfoundlander-Owned resource extraction and Space.
The future of Newfoundland and Labrador’s mining industry depends on a strong local workforce. That’s why we’re following through on our commitment to support future workforce development by partnering with Vale and investing in Memorial University’s new co-operative Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Mineral Processing program, creating new pathways to high-demand careers and helping more young people build their future right here at home. With the first students expected to begin in Fall 2027, this program is another step toward a stronger workforce, a growing mining sector, and more opportunity for all of us.

We are masters of our destiny. Budget 2026 is our plan to build a stronger, more united Canada where we are all free to live as we choose.

I am very very pro responsible data centre development If we can push developers to produce their own clean energy supply, ensure high paying jobs for Canadians, and to build them in safe areas… The upsides are just too good to pass up. Change my mind
US voters just rejected data centres everywhere they got the chance.
That investment has to land somewhere.
Clean hydro. Open land. Cold winters.
 That's Canada 🇨🇦
This is a massive opportunity for us. Generational.

There is literally no country on the planet better set up to build a shitload of compute. Power, Land, Resources. We need to change the narrative.

Newfoundland has such crazy potential to be a Defence powerhouse it hurts. We have the land, resources and political will. What we need are the new startups and companies that see that 20 year plan, and all of the jobs, infrastructure, money and renown that will come with it.

Build again.
“I care about changing the country.” CEO @EliotPence was recently profiled in @financialpost, tracking his journey from working in venture capital in Africa to his decision to move back from the U.S. after 20 years to bet on Canada and build Dominion.

If you or your society isn't building heavily, it is decaying and wont last. The only way is through

“Its a Hardware problem” “Its a Software problem” I have become uncomfortably familiar with what all sorts of things look like on the oscilloscope now.
Debugging integrated hardware. The remaining issues are hard to reproduce and take extra test equipment and harnessing just to track down. Software team: “It’s a hardware problem.” Hardware team: “It’s a software problem.” 🤷‍♂️

If anyone is looking for a background, here’s probably the best photo from our TerraNova mission so far, upscaled:

Local compute ownership is essentially the same argument as firearm ownership. Its an individualism not an efficiency question
We need personal local superintelligence that is not dependent on the cloud SI supply chains. Working on it.

Thank you Dr. Osinski. We will not accept a future where Canada does not have a high cadence and sustained presence on the Moon and will work relentlessly to ensure it. We hope our private investments and absorption of risk is acknowledged and built upon by the wider Canadian ecosystem. We have delivered clear proposals with costs and timelines for ready-to-fly missions under a proposed program called LUNICS to enable a faster pace of Canadian lunar missions to @ISED_CA @csa_asc @Astro_Jeremy.

Massive new clean energy projects.

One of the coolest things about this mission is what it means for our entire stack of products and missions at NordSpace, which are constantly working towards sharing common architectures. The cameras and boards we’ve built here will likely be the same/similar ones used to live stream video and data from our orbital rocket, Tundra. They’ll also be battle tested on the Moon next year. Nothing replaces real flight heritage and experience. Terra Nova is about so much more than just one satellite.

Took these on Sunday! Its something special to look back on Earth from a vehicle that you and your team laboured over so intensively, hands on.
Spent my whole life writing “hello world” to test all the code I’ve ever written. With our first satellite in space now sending some low resolution calibration images down to Mission Control from our situational awareness cameras, “hello world” has a whole new and real meaning.

Its not really that Software Engineering jobs are going away, they are just covering a wider area of discipline. The disconnect exists because we haven't had long enough to internalize that. Build Hardware
The only path forward is full stack engineering. You will become a aerospace mechanical chemical design engineer and you will like it.
