The alacrity with which the government has accepted all 27 recommendations of a methodologically flawed report commissioned by an ex-Minister in hock to the Israel lobby & which was carried out by people with links to Israel advocacy is concerning.

So, Jonathan, you will no doubt also agree that no artist should be pressured, blacklisted or silenced over their Palestinian or Arab identity. And Palestinian / Arab artists also should not be subjected to ideological litmus tests?
My friend @SachaBaronCohen has spent years confronting hate and disinformation, and @ADL is proud of all the work we've done together. In a world where lies spread faster than facts, that work matters more than ever.
No artist should be pressured, blacklisted or silenced over their Jewish identity. And Jewish artists shouldn’t be subjected to ideological litmus tests.
Thank you, Sacha, for continuing to speak out against hate while making us laugh along the way.

BREAKING: Iranian officials now believe a joint U.S.-Israeli attack is imminent and instructing the country’s armed forces to directly activate the decentralized “Mosaic Defense” doctrine, with commanders reportedly receiving extensive lists of U.S. economic and political targets to strike if war erupts, per Fars News.
A senior Iranian security official warned that U.S. political assets and infrastructure in countries participating in the conflict could be directly targeted. The doctrine disperses military command across 31 provincial commands, designed to allow Iran to continue fighting even if its central leadership is attacked.

"Repeatedly associating an entire Jewish community with the actions of the Israeli state, is making innocent Jewish people targets for anger over decisions they neither made nor necessarily support. This should concern anyone who genuinely wants to tackle antisemitism".
What I think really needs to be pointed out is that it's the government and mainstream media themselves who are fuelling antisemitism.
If the only response to anyone who dares to challenge the actions of Israel is "you're being antisemitic", as we're seeing on a daily basis, then this is precisely what risks painting a target on the backs of the Jewish community.
@AndyBurnham himself said in July that "there is no contradiction between a zero-tolerance approach to antisemitism and holding the Netanyahu government to account."
Yet now he's branding @ZackPolanski and @TheGreenParty's position on Zionism, which is a political nationalist ideology rather than a religion, and one invoked by the Israeli government to justify its policies towards Palestinians, as antisemitic.
Jewish people are NOT responsible for the actions of Israel. Criticism of Israel is NOT antisemitic on its own. And defending Palestinian rights is NOT an attack on Jewish people.
The government and media should be reinforcing these distinctions, not blurring them.

Meanwhile the Zionists continue to insist that the IDF is the most moral army that has ever existed on the face of this benighted planet because they warn people they're going to bomb them.

King Leopold II is not demonized like Hitler because his victims were Black Africans — and Black lives have never mattered to the people who built their wealth on our suffering.
He killed over 20 million innocent Congolese, and oversaw a regime that amputated the hands of countless Africans.
Leopold was even buried in a Catholic church.
Even worse, Europe still honors this colonial monster with monuments, while his African victims are forgotten.
Imagine an African leader doing this to 20 million Europeans.
Would the world ever let them forget ?
Western hypocrisy is absolutely disgusting.

I've just been reading the government's proposals to "combat antisemitism" in British schools, and my initial impression is that this is an outrageous attempt to effectively Zionise our education system and eradicate sympathy for Palestine amongst pupils, all dressed up as a campaign against antisemitism.
Pupils can see with their own eyes, on their phones every single day, the genocide unfolding in Palestine. Yet these proposals appear to be an attempt to instruct teachers to persuade children to turn a blind eye to what they are witnessing, to look the other way and suppress their natural sense of moral outrage.
Once again, the government has embraced the agenda of the pro-Israel lobby, allowing its priorities to shape education policy under the guise of combating prejudice.
There must be serious scrutiny of these proposals and robust pushback from teachers' unions, individual teachers and pupils.
I have no issue with combating genuine antisemitism, but it must never become a pretext for silencing legitimate criticism of Israel or suppressing solidarity with the Palestinian people.

A genuinely "impartial" answer would be that Israel is a colonial apartheid regime currently committing genocide.
You don't want "impartial". You've never wanted "impartial".
You want your lies treated as equivalent to the truth.

I don’t think one should be ‘impartial’ over the Holocaust for instance. That would correctly be seen as Nazi apologetics.

The funny thing about this is that remaining genuinely impartial would involve relaying the facts, and if teachers did this, they would get accused of pro-Palestinian bias and fired.
It's factual to say Israel has damaged/destroyed 85% of buildings in Gaza, officially killed 70,000 and likely killed several times more because we lost the ability to count. It's factual to say Israel cut off food, water and medicine. It's factual to say they're also attacking the West Bank and Southern Lebanon which have nothing to do with Oct 7. It's factual to say they started a war on Iran. It's factual to say their leaders use genocidal rhetoric and their soldiers brag of genocidal actions. It's factual to say that pretty much every genocide scholar and human rights group calls this a genocide. It's factual to say this did not start on Oct 7 and that it actually began with the Nakba in 1948. It's factual to say that from the beginning, prominent Zionists were talking about driving all Palestinians from their land.
Are we really gonna allow teachers to tell kids all of this? Because a genuinely impartial conversation would involve relaying all of the facts. If they did, Zionists would have a meltdown.

🇫🇷 Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), the student group behind the 2024 Gaza encampment at Columbia, sent the French high school students leading the protests sweeping France a list of lessons from the U.S. campus movement, "including what we failed to do."
The group urged them to follow the money and trace "the supply chains that connect a classroom in Saint-Denis to a mine in the Sahel," then "disrupt them." It admitted that "the Student Intifada's downfall was our failure to widen our terrain of struggle beyond the campus gates," and told the students to "link the lycées to the factories, the factories to the ports, the ports to the ships."
It warned them against the "liberal trap," recalling that "by the second week of our encampments, liberals had shifted the conversation away from Gaza to what protest is allowed to look like." It also told them not to let "union executives, party spokespersons, or televised commentators translate your rage," and to protect those taking the greatest risks, because "a movement that abandons its front line to save its respectability will soon find itself with neither."
Writing as "veterans of the Student Intifada," CUAD said it saw its own struggle in students "blocking school gates, wearing keffiyehs and hoisting Palestinian flags." The revolt began in the working-class, largely immigrant suburbs of Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne, where, the letter says, "the police who patrol your gates are the descendants of those who patrolled the Casbah," a reference to French colonial rule in Algeria.
"Do not demand a better future from those who are actively burning the planet and plotting your demise," it said. "Do not negotiate the terms of your future. Liberate the present."

🇵🇸🎶 A Song That Carries the Story of Palestine.
During the morning assembly, Gaza Great Minds students perform “A Little Palestinian Girl,” a song that tells the painful story of a people whose lives are shattered by the loss of loved ones and the pain of displacement.
Through their young voices, our students express a story of grief, injustice, and a homeland that lives on in the hearts of its people. 💔🇵🇸
Listen closely to the video, and you can hear the sound of the drone overhead — a sound that echoes through the lives of children in Gaza every day. Yet, even with this sound in the background, our children continue to sing, learn, and hold on to their identity and dreams. 🕊️
Their voices deserve to be heard. Their childhood deserves peace.

Within the next 48 hours, if flour is not allowed into Gaza, all bakeries in the city will stop producing bread.
We are facing an enormous catastrophe. Famine is knocking on our doors once again, and this time, it could be worse than anything we have experienced before.
Please, do not remain silent! Talk about Gaza, make our voices heard around the world, and do everything you can before thousands of people lose access to something as basic as a loaf of bread.
Love this.
Iain Dale completely loses it after a caller refuses to go along with the approved narrative on Russia.
The caller says most people simply don’t care about Russia, don’t see it as a threat, and just want lower energy bills.
“On the street, nobody agrees with your talking points.”
Dale asks: “You don’t think Russia is a threat to this country?”
“No. It’s not”, the caller replies. “The average person just wants their bills to come down.”
Dale then explodes: “Yeah but they don’t want bills to come down by appeasing a brutal Russian dictator who’s invaded the sovereign country of Ukraine and killed hundreds of thousands of people! What part of that do you not get!?”
The caller hits back: “What are you talking about? As if we’re some kind of beacon of humanity. Give me a break!”
You can shout at people all you like, Iain, but it doesn’t make you right. Plenty of people don’t support the Ukraine war, don’t believe Russia is an existential threat to Britain, and know there’s more to this than Putin just waking up one day and deciding to invade for fun.
They don’t buy the “Hitler” comparison and would happily buy cheaper oil if it meant improving the shocking living standards created by years of reckless government policy.
As the caller points out, we’re hardly saints either, not with the regimes we back and the things Britain has done itself.
Most people have seen through the nonsense.
