Stuart, thank you for your relentless hard work, your vision, and for helping cement RMPS as a rigorous, distinct, and vital pillar of Scottish education. You have created an excellent foundation of an excellent group.

Even after handing over the role of Chair, Stuart continued to champion our subject by leading the Festival of Learning working group.

Under his leadership as Chair, STARME became a powerhouse for advocacy. He guided our stances on the Withdrawal Bill, standards for future inspections, and ensured our subject had the loudest voice in the room during the Curriculum Improvement Cycle. (Quite Literally!)

It all started with a conversation between Stuart and our Secretary, Steph, about the urgent need for a voice for our subject. From that initial conversation, Stuart led STARME through its creation and inauguration, serving as our very first Chairperson for three years.
