After months of hard work, Seattl Tech Bloc is proud to bring you spd.watch This tool aggregates Public Data Requests and crowd-sourced photos to bring you information we have been able to gather on SPD officers.

ALT Screenshot of the officer detail page on OpenOversight of Dag Aakervik. Photo of Aakervik appears on the left. General information section appears on the right, including name, department, race, gender, birth year, first employment date, number of known incidents, and currently on the force status. Below that are sections for assignment history and salary.
Well, it looks like we had a disk fail already🫠This might be down for a bit, we'll retweet again once it's stable!
Oops, seems like Twitter is imploding 😶 Fear not, we've just finished setting up a Mastodon instance! DM us to get in - we're only allowing approved accounts for the time being. See you on the federated toot machines:
mastadon.tech-bloc-sea.dev (yes that typo is intentional)

We are also going to work to make sure the lovely bots we manage (namely xitter.gq/watching_spd) also make it over to Mastodon
New update to spd.watch - images can now be clicked on to see their full size (and the cropped section for the officer in question). Clicking on the image will also load a higher quality version if available. Try it out!
It's been a minute, but we're here with an update! We pushed out some changes to spd.watch which will now let you search for officers by first name, and search only officers who currently have the rank/unit you're searching for. Try it out!

Amidst all the BS today, our encrypted radio tracker just got 5x bigger, so we'll have even more info on who's talking when (even if we can't hear what they're saying). If you want pics where we have them, use the badge # to search here: spd.watch/department/1

Today marks two years since we started this account in the middle of the 2020 uprising.
Since then, we’ve done more than 100 officer profiles, nearly 150 public records request, dozens of threads, and worked with @TechBlocSEA to make a searchable database of police misconduct
OpenOversight v1.3.1 released - Unit and Rank fields now have text search! Rather than scrolling miles and miles through the list, you can now start typing and the list will filter down to what's available. Try it out yourself!

Tired of refreshing the OPA site for case updates?
Today we've released a new tool to track open datasets published by SPD & OPA! This tool tracks newly opened and closed OPA investigations, as well as new closed case summary documents.

This work is based off previous projects from @lucyparsonslabs and @OpenOversight, and we're incredibly grateful for their work. This would not be possible without them, and the community members who helped obtain and process this data.
