I fear #Ferrari found the limit now in FP3. When the rear tyres are stressed both on longitudinal and lateral side - the most in S2 - they are quite off with the soft, quite the opposite on what we saw on the medium. Still good times in the slow, maybe not enough #MexicoGP
#Ferrari with their usual 2026 approach - a very aggressive deployment in the low end torque curve. The turbo design philosophy helps that approach here. The rears are put on so much stress, even more with the low grip due to the altitude. Quali will be a big, big test #MexicoGP

We can conclude that #Ferrari was able to use the maximum of SF26 performance in COTA. The upgrades worked, maybe that car now is easier to bring to the limit - they’re forced to work in this way due to the engine limitations - but still they opted for an all in approach, going-

against their power deficit. also the track had a really poor asphalt in terms of bumps, so maybe that all in was necessary. The absent usual setup compromise on stiffness helped rear tyre deg: Mexico will be another test on that. The #Ferrari problem of quali is still there-

but as Leclerc said it is not structural. It was influenced by setup choices for the race, but #Ferrari is far more sensible on temp variations of tires, which have already a tiny work window - and from this year higher pressures, which complicate everything

This race could be one of the biggest what if of the season for Charles. Really mega pace, a shame for the two stop. The updates have been great, #Ferrari seems to have a better rear stability on deg side #USGP

Here we take four laps of LEC and VER's stints, both on soft - two early and late laps for each. Is visible how #Ferrari struggles in the slow of T3 (red arrow) compared to the first two laps (white arrow). VER is more consistent there. Both influenced by traffic #USGP

Interesting to note is also the gear usage in quali and race sim. In his high-fuel laps LEC used a lower gear in T11 and T15 - connected with #Ferrari's higher battery recharge struggles - while in his low-fuel sim he uses a lower gear in the first sector's snake than VER #USGP

Biggest VER's gains are above 250 kph. LEC is faster in high-medium. In the low it seems #Ferrari with LEC is trying a late-turn in style, probably to help with corner exit and reduce the power deficit. For race laps they opted for a more focus deploy on the back straight #USGP

This was the gap #GTWorld
So basically if a driver join BMW he become immediately over-aggressive? Or simply a fucking idiot. Great job Pepper, another race destroyed for the factory Ferrari cars #GTWorld

Some rightly made me realize that the goal of the post slipped away. The point was to focus on #Ferrari's power deficit and how it still impact performance. It has a big impact on setup choices and driving style. Focus on ALT expl. Chassis is great, but nothing without enough hp.
Interesting noting the throttle usage differences between LEC and VER during the 1st stint. LEC is far more aggressive in corner entry and exit, with also a major throttle use in the rotation phase in medium-speed. It's not the first time we're seeing this approach with #Ferrari

Lap 10 and 11 (where LEC had OM): we can see a VER's advantage in a wide type of corners. His biggest gains are from exit of 4, the slow sector of 7-8, exit of 13 and 17. Could be to recharge the added 0.5 Mj of the OM, but the exit phase is still critical for #Ferrari

Lap 19 and 20: after LEC's tyres suffered from overheat, he was still very aggressive on throttle. He opted for a strong-rear setup to protect rear temp, but this was not enough. Mechanics was great in quali and looked quite soft - this is not related to structural issues #F1

#Ferrari si dimostra della partita quando non c’è da sacrificare per la velocità sul dritto, sopratutto con Hamilton. Leclerc soffre problemi di fiducia legati ai freni, ma nonostante ciò concretizza più di Lewis. SF-26 super in frenata #SingaporeGP formulacritica.it/news/26226…
