What if death doesn’t chase you… it simply waits for the right moment?
Final Destination plays on the terrifying idea that some things are impossible to escape no matter how far ahead you think you’ve gotten.

On this day in 2022, Aptos opened its doors to users, bringing a new contender into the Layer 1 race.
built by former Meta engineers from the Libra/Diem project, Aptos was designed around a high performance blockchain architecture and Move, a programming language built with digital asset safety in mind.
but the timeline is worth noting…
@Aptos genesis transaction took place on October 12th, on October 17th Aptos Labs announced Mainnet has arrived.
then, on this day October 18th, the network was expected to begin processing user transactions, making this the date widely associated with its public launch.
and Aptos didn’t arrive quietly.
just three months earlier, it had raised $150M in a round led by FTX Ventures and Jump Crypto. major exchanges including Coinbase, Binance, FTX, OKX and Huobi listed $APT around launch.
the project drew attention as a potential Solana killer, but its ambitions went beyond competing with one chain.
Aptos was bringing the Move language and ideas inherited from Meta’s blockchain research into a new independent ecosystem.
the network was live, the next chapter then was about what developers and users would build on it.
four years later, Aptos is still running💯

the race to scale Ethereum got a serious contender in 2023.
on October 17th, @Scroll_ZKP publicly opened its zkEVM mainnet after more than two years of building.
the goal was simple:
bring ETH-compatible smart contracts to a zero-knowledge rollup, and give developers another way to scale Ethereum without abandoning its familiar tools.
but the launch came with an important distinction.
Scroll’s mainnet infrastructure was already live, its bridge contracts had been deployed on Ethereum by October 8 and deposits had quietly begun before the public announcement.
October 17th was the moment Scroll officially opened the doors.
the launch also brought a wave of attention, Scroll’s TVL reportedly jumped from under $1 million to roughly $3.1 million that day.
and security was a big part of the pitch, with audits from firms including OpenZeppelin, Zellic, Trail of Bits and KALOS.
Scroll wasn’t the first zkEVM to arrive. Polygon zkEVM and zkSync Era were already live earlier that year.
but it was the next major contender entering Ethereum’s increasingly crowded scaling race.
another rollup.
another bet on ZK proofs.
another attempt to scale Ethereum on this day.

At this moment it will be a pleasure to watch their women’s team play for them for this mess they are creating. Manchester City has to find a new team in Manchester to be playing derby matches with, because this can’t be rivalry to us!

Physical strength, mental toughness, or the ability to carry heavy burdens doesn’t remove the need for connection, tenderness, reassurance, or someone who sees you and stays.
the people who appear strongest often carry the most and therefore need reliable care the most whether that comes from a partner, family, friends, or the quieter practice of self-care.💯🪶

Valverde start as right back when Trent Alexander Arnold is fit and on the bench.🤧
Whoever advised Trent to leave Liverpool prematurely needs to be investigated.
