Good job Montana!
Montana is the only United States state to enshrine Indigenous education in its constitution.
Adopted in 1972, Article X of the Montana Constitution recognizes the distinct and unique cultural heritage of American Indians. It commits the state through its educational system to the preservation of their cultural integrity.
This constitutional provision laid the groundwork for the Indian Education for All initiative. Under Montana law every public school student whether Native or non Native is required to learn about the distinct histories and cultures of American Indians in a culturally responsive manner. Public school employees must also receive the necessary knowledge and resources to deliver this instruction accurately.
The curriculum goes beyond presenting Native people solely as figures from history. It incorporates the histories cultures governments languages and contemporary experiences of Montana tribal nations. Schools are encouraged to collaborate with tribes when developing appropriate educational materials.
Montana is home to 12 tribal nations and seven reservations making Native history an integral part of the state identity. For decades however many students received minimal instruction about the peoples whose nations predated the formation of Montana as a state.
Several other states including Washington have enacted laws requiring the teaching of tribal history and sovereignty. Montana stands apart because its commitment is embedded in the state constitution rather than relying solely on legislation.
At right, head coach Mike Barnes. Cards went 8-1 that year and did not make the playoffs. At far right is assistant coach Joe Curl. Joe was star athlete at SSC. He went on to coach women’s basketball at the University of Houston.
Counsell will have his catchers today throw to 2nd when a batter is walked with a runner on 1st. Book it! @Kalshi @FanaticsBook
If a kid never plays the sport in an unstructured, spontaneous way — they aren’t intrinsically motivated. They are missing the “fun” piece.
Kids give up on sports when it’s no longer fun. When parents & coaches pressure kids to over-perform, they want to quit playing. You can encourage & support, but don’t constantly make a kid feel criticized or undervalued.

Hi seniors. Paul McCartney says it well:
Nothing stays the same
No one needs to cry
Nothing can reclaim
The days we left behind.
