Good news! There are 7 farms in MiLB with less impressive statcast data than the Rangers...and 2 of them are in their division! Silver linings, folks, silver linings.
Rays pitching development 👀
They're producing pitchers with nasty stuff who also throw a ton of strikes.

A lot of clubs have started to do a nice job making videos that shed light on their scouts and the scouting process in general. Cool to see.
This is the backbone of every organization and most of these guys don't get enough credit. A few I've seen (1/2):
I VERY seldom comment publicly on a player’s perceived makeup. I’ve been around them for nearly 20 years now and know it’s more nuanced than we often guess. That said, I’m not sure Kumar really enjoys baseball; he’s just always been good at it.

A rogue bat and the Rangers training staff are the only reasons Leiter hasnt gotten to this ceiling, imo. Iwas always skeptical of rocker because of his make-up. I want my high end pitchers to be psychos, not aloof and non-chalant.
Rocker and Leiter both had crazy ceilings IMO. Leiter had the stuff, but poor results. Rocker had a small repertoire but top of the chart results. Which is why a) ceilings are a sonofabitch and b) never listen to me.
ICYMI, grand slam for the prospect with the highest ceiling (for a position player) the Rangers have had in a long, long time.
Sebastian Walcott's first Fall League homer is a GRAND SLAM!
MLB's No. 8 prospect (@Rangers) has seven RBIs in five games:
Tampa starter Nick Martinez was the Rangers' 18th Rd pick in 2011. His 15.0 career bWAR trails only Kyle Hendricks (22.4) from that draft. None of Texas' first 5 selections from that draft ever made it to the big leagues.

Hamilton Wise has been promoted to VP of Amateur, Domestic and International Scouting by the Texas Rangers, per sources.
Wise is now one of the few scouts to hold a leadership role overseeing both the amateur draft and international scouting, which speaks volumes about his performance on the international side alongside his scouting group, with several talents being promoted this 2026 season.
Multiple teams were actively pursuing Rangers scouts, including Wise, before he received this promotion.
Vinny, sleeveless and in his truck, absolutely runnin’ circles around bespectacled analysts galore. Man might have his choice of seven-figure pundit deals once he’s done hitting big league bombos.

Fresh off their #ALDS sweep of the Yankees, we asked the Royals first baseman what makes #ForTampaBay so tough in all phases?

What an amazing career. Thirteen and a half years ago, I interviewed Nick Martinez after his first year in A-ball…and he said this:
"We knew it was going to be a hostile environment... we knew if we brought the energy and fought for every pitch, we had a chance."

Sebastian Walcott went 2-3 tonight with a walk, run scored, and 2RBI while playing SS tonight in the Arizona Fall League. He also made an error and got picked off 2B, but I don’t care about that.
All these playoff teams seem to have relievers who throw the holy hell outta the ball. Mega cheddar and hundos galore. That’s cool, I guess.
Like everyone in the biz over the last thirty+ years, I got a few Mico stories, but there’s no denying his lasting imprint on the Dallas restaurant scene. He’s the reason an entire generation of locals are comprised of 1/3 queso. RIP Mico.
The legendary (and troubled) Dallas restaurateur died of a heart attack. dmagazine.com/frontburner/20…
