Great trustees think outside the box. What's the box? The status quo trap in which many operate. Who makes the box? Those made powerful and rich when trustees adhere to the status quo. Those people are tickling trustees' ears all year long. Then parents and teachers have real problems and sound like complainers. Trustees want to hear positive things, and they get that from the special interests. Remember that next time you elect a great board member. Don't abandon them, because there will instantly be someone saying sweet nothings in their ear and trying to turn them into something they were not when they ran. This is not an invitation to bash anyone. Please don't. This is a reminder to accompany good trustees, and to encourage the not-so-good ones to think differently. Gently expose them to a different reality. A different approach... A focus on academics, partnering with parents, listening to their best teachers, and promoting the most ethical among them into administration, and NO ONE who has mistreated teachers or parents. Stuff like that. Reform is possible. But powerful forces want trustees to feel like victims of "Austin" and "unDERfUnDinG" so they don't notice the true sources of problems. Board members...#GoAtTheRoots

BREAKINGโ€ฆ @McKinneyISD athletic trainer Lindsey Post pleads GUILTY to sexually assaulting a 14yo female student at @McKinneyNorthHS. The jury will decide Postโ€™s punishment. All three charges carry sentences of 2-20 years; sexual assault requires lifetime sex offender registration. Back in court tomorrow.
In Collin County Court today for Day 1 of the trial against McKINNEY ISD athletic trainer Lindsey Post, arrested earlier this year for sexually assaulting a 14yo female student. Post is accused of assaulting the girl on campus and while the student was in the trainerโ€™s car being driven to school-sponsored events. Five charges were pending. Prosecutors amended todayโ€™s indictment to TWO counts of Sexual Assault of a Child* and ONE count of Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student. Both crimes are second-degree felonies punishable by 2-20 years in prison. Post worked at @McKinneyNorthHS at the time of the alleged sex crimes. The girlโ€™s family also filed a civil suit against @McKinneyISD and Post. BACKGROUNDโ€ฆ texasscorecard.com/local/firโ€ฆ @TexasEd911 @TheLufkinLawyer #TxEd #TXLege

My office is going on OFFENSE against government fraud. NO ONE is off limits. In the Senate, I shut down a government agency that was robbing taxpayers blind. It was one of the biggest corruption scandals in modern Texas history and put 6 crooks in prison. VOTE HUFFINES so I can keep serving as your Comptroller: exposing government corruption, rooting out fraud, and holding lawbreakers accountable.

If you skip the oil change long enough, you end up buying a new engine. "I don't like the candidates." Then perhaps you should have helped recruit and support better ones long before election season. "No one stepped forward." Maybe that's because the people who might have run didn't want to shoulder the responsibility of campaigning all by themselves to serve every family in the district. Historically, that's what we've expected: a mostly solo flight prior to the election, undertaken on our behalf. "I don't have time to organize." Then don't be surprised when the engine light comes on. Every election cycle we ignore is deferred maintenance on our own county. And the repair bill compounds. "We won't vote our way out of this." You're right that voting alone isn't enough. Organizing, building relationships, recruiting capable people, and working together between elections are part of the job. Regular maintenance is cheap and smart. Neglected maintenance is expensive, but the work still has to be done. Let's get the work done and make the repairs. Then we can get back to regular maintenance. Liberty doesn't maintain itself. That's our responsibility.

Harmon, who spent 28 years with the Cedar Park Police Department (including the last five as chief), was announced as RRISDโ€™s next chief in early October 2026. He is scheduled to start November 9 after retiring from Cedar Park on November 6. Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez has praised the hire. At the same time, a 42-page federal complaint filed April 30, 2025, in the Western District of Texas (Tanya Zurba v. City of Cedar Park, No. 1:25-cv-642) identifies Harmon as the final municipal policymaker whose alleged โ€œad hoc policyโ€ of a โ€œculture of indifferenceโ€ was the โ€œmoving forceโ€ behind constitutional violations. The lawsuit centers on former Cedar Park Officer Keco Motton. Multiple women alleged Motton, while uniformed, armed, and on duty (and using his mental-health officer designation), sexually assaulted or groped them during domestic-related calls, including the plaintiff in May 2023. The complaint states Motton admitted sexual contact during interviews with Texas Rangers; he was arrested, resigned, and died by suicide days later. Plaintiffs allege the department (under Harmon) failed to adequately train, supervise, investigate prior complaints, or discipline Motton despite earlier reports, internal affairs activity, and warningsโ€”creating deliberate indifference to citizensโ€™ Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment rights to bodily integrity. These remain allegations; the City is the named defendant under ยง 1983 municipal-liability theories. This arrives against RRISDโ€™s own record of police-department instability: โŒJeffrey Yarbrough (first chief, roughly 2020โ€“2022) left for the Hutto Police Department. He and other officers were named as defendants in ongoing federal litigation arising from arrests of parents at board meetings. โŒDennis Weiner (hired ~2022/2023) faced a 2023 Texas Commission on Law Enforcement investigation finding he and an assistant chief had not completed required licensing and background processes before serving. An internal review described a โ€œtoxic,โ€ divided department with favoritism and communication failures. After Weiner alleged district leadership delayed notifying police of a sexual assault of a five-year-old on a school bus and raised other non-reporting issues, he was placed on leave and his contract was not renewed. He sued under the Texas Whistleblower Act; the case remains pending in federal court (with a jury trial scheduled). โŒRyan Urrutia (hired September 2024 from the El Paso County Sheriffโ€™s Office) departed earlier in 2026. Whistleblower-style complaints circulated (noted by observers as not independently verified) alleging retaliation, confidentiality issues, skipped hiring exams, high turnover, and other operational problems. โŒInterim leadership, including Latriesha Grandy, also cycled out quickly (Grandy departed July 2026). The department has seen multiple chiefs or interims leave in roughly six years, with ongoing staffing shortfalls reported. โŒHarmonโ€™s wife, Julie Harmon, is already an officer in the RRISD department and has raised questions about chain-of-command and conflict-of-interest optics, as well as her prior involvement in background work tied to an earlier chief Weiner hire that TCOLE later faulted. Mike Harmon has publicly stated his wife will resign once he becomes Chief. Julie Harmon is still listed as of today (10/26/2026) on the Round Rock ISD police website. The pattern under Superintendent Azaiez, who has a one-way permanent restraining order for violence against a pregnant woman, has included licensing lapses, culture complaints, whistleblower litigation, and now the arrival of a chief whose prior department is defending a serious federal suit alleging systemic failures around an officer who sexually assaulted women and later died by suicide. Whether Harmon brings the โ€œstabilityโ€ the district has publicly sought remains to be seen; parents and taxpayers have legitimate reasons to scrutinize both the incoming chiefโ€™s record and the districtโ€™s broader history of police oversight. @M4LWilCoTX

Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez told staff Harmon has accepted the job, pending a psych eval and fitness test, with a Nov. 9 start. Harmon spent 28 years at Cedar Park PD, the last five as chief of that 114-officer department. Azaiezโ€™s email also says Julie Harmon will stay, report to Sgt. Pope rather than her husband, and that this creates โ€œno conflict of interest or personnel issues.โ€ That is not how a chain of command works. The moment a complaint against her needs the next level of review, that person is her husband. Sergeants will know that disciplining the chiefโ€™s wife can end their own career. Officers will assume favoritism from day one. Public TCOLE records also show Officer Julie Harmon previously handled background work tied to an earlier RRISD chief hiring that the state later faulted. The omission fits a longer pattern @drbone4tx has documented. This is the fourth permanent chief search in about six years under Azaiez: โšซ๏ธChief Dennis Weiner and Assistant Chief Rosemarie White acted as peace officers before required Texas licensing and background checks were finished. A 2023 TCOLE investigation found the pre-employment process was not followed. An internal review called the department toxic, divided, and marked by favoritism. Weinerโ€™s contract was not renewed after he alleged leadership failed to properly report a sexual assault of a young student; he sued under the Texas Whistleblower Act and a federal lawsuit is still in progress with a jury trial set for later this year. โšซ๏ธChief Ryan Urrutia, hired in September 2024, was out by spring 2026. This account published whistleblower complaints โ€” which flagged as not independently verified โ€” alleging retaliation, confidentiality breaches, hiring that skipped psych and physical exams, evidence-handling problems, and turnover of 13-plus officers, with some campuses down to one officer or none. Bond-funded vehicles were reported sitting unused. โšซ๏ธUnder Chief Yarborough, two fathers were arrested after attending board meetings and speaking out about COVID restrictions and the superintendentโ€™s protective order tied to family-violence allegations. โšซ๏ธInterim chiefs have also cycled out, including Latriesha Grandy in July 2026. Azaiez himself is under an agreed permanent civil restraining order tied to 2021 allegations by a former girlfriend that he assaulted her while she was pregnant. Azaiezโ€™s email treats the spouse arrangement as closed. The record is licensing failures, lawsuits, staffing collapse, and another chief whose family is already inside the department. Parents should ask, on the record, who actually disciplines the chiefโ€™s wife when the sergeant will not. @TCOLE @RoundRockISD @TheLufkinLawyer

Zero-based budgeting. Radical transparency. Eliminate Special Interests. Efficiency. Learning. Liberty.
Round Rock schools said this summer they would end the year with a little leftover money, about $75,000. Now they say they will be short by $10.9 million. That's an $11 million swing in just a few months. โ€จAt the same time, the district wants you to vote yes on Prop A. That's a tax increase. On a $500,000 home, it would cost about $199 a year. About half of that new tax money wouldn't even stay in Round Rock schools. It would get sent to the state under a program called recapture. โ€จIf a school district can't keep its own books straight, it shouldn't get a tax hike. It should get an outside audit first, and it should cut from the top before it asks families for more.โ€จ Vote NO on Prop A. Early voting is Oct. 19โ€“30. Election Day is Nov. 3. โ€จTheodore Schramm | For Texas House District 136 | theodoretx.com โ€จ#TX136 #RoundRockISD #roundrocktx #Williamsoncountytx

#EndSchoolElectioneering Hopefully it's becoming more and more clear to elected officials that it's basically now or never. You have to address this issue. Sort of like a parasite cleanse, you have to be strategic and THOROUGH. Half-measures just make them bury deeper, hide quietly, and do even MORE damage. These people you think you can charm into giving you votes are NOT your friends. They openly mock and hate you. You can make ten times the friends with the salt of the earth Texans. We cannot maintain our great state if we kow-tow to special interests hoping, "maybe they'll vote for me." They won't. Ever! They need to be perpetually mad at the good guys, until Texas becomes unrecognizable. Break the cycle. UNLEASH Texas from these ties that bind. #GoAtTheRoots #EndSchoolElectioneering #EndFraudWasteAbuse

97% chance she attended a public school for 13 years. Countrymen PAID to ensure she was educated for two main reasons: To ensure our blessings of liberty continue and help her participate in society to the fullest if she chooses. She has a world of information available to her but was obviously passed and allowed to graduate without the ability to formulate a non-talking-point utterance about a very BASIC economic concept. This is shameful. How many BILLIONS are we pouring down the drain? Then nothing but "it's the parents' fault" when all the parents know is "my kids gets Bs." (In THEIR day, that meant something, so the parent's frame of reference understandably leads to a faulty assumption that acquisition of knowledge is happening.) Education is one of the 4 top national security issues of today, and by the time it is recognized, it will be too late. @EDSecMcMahon @SecRubio @POTUS @SecWar Very grateful the admin just dealt with college level Confucius Institute/similar. this is such a wild trend: 100% conviction 0% comprehension it's a magic word cult. they do not even understand what the words they are speaking mean. they think they are magic spells that make people have to agree with them and that silence dissent. this is the sort of empty headed addle brained identity that emerges from years of cosseted cancel culture. they argue by assertions they cannot even explain, much less defend. it can only sustain itself by suppressing debate and discussion. it disintegrates like sugar sculpture in a thunderstorm when challenged or asked to explain itself. keep pushing. this is the fun part.

Researchers asked 85 college English majors to read the first seven paragraphs of Dickens' Bleak House and explain them in plain English. They were allowed to use dictionaries and their phones. Only 5% understood what they read. 58% got lost. These were English majors. About half were training to become English teachers. That study was done in 2015. Kids in K-12 today have had ten more years of SEL, equity and "belonging" crowding out reading. How do you think they're doing? Read hard books with your kids. Don't wait for the school to do it.
