Nebraska Football has gotten me through a lot of tough times over the years. I became a fan at 9 years old in 2004 just missing out on the ā€œglory daysā€. If you told me then all the ups and downs this program would have it wouldn’t have mattered. I’m a Cornhusker for life #GBR

I don't understand what happened to kickoff return team. Do we practice it? Last year it was absolutely electric. At one point we lead the nation We had 780 yards last year and this year it's 230. What happened???

What do regular Americans worry about in the first five minutes after they wake up in the morning? They worry about their kids. Their bills. How they’ll afford to pay the mortgage and fill the tank. They don’t worry about Iran or renovating the White House or any of the numerous other things Trump spent the last year rambling about. Republicans did not speak to the issues that directly and immediately impact regular Americans. They did not present a compelling plan to deal with those issues. That’s why they’re getting crushed. And they deserve it.

ā€œBest practice of the yearā€
Holgorsen says he "100% agrees" that Nebraska's offense was pressing vs. Washington. He traces it back to the way things were messaged after the Oregon game - run a little faster, try a little harder - and players wanting to do that so badly that, they pressed. Said last week of practice was great. Maybe the best week of the year.

Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls. That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching. I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee. Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

Would highly recommend everyone watch this episode. Appreciate @TravisCreates sharing his raw and real frustrations. Most Husker fans I think are pretty shell shocked at this point. Keeping Matt Rhule for another year or two is going to destroy this fanbase. GBR

19 minute opening statements should be a felony
Nebraska coach Matt Rhule in a 19-minute opening statement at his weekly news conference: "Don’t take a rocking boat and a rocking sea and rock it even more. You can’t control what’s outside the boat. But your focus should be on being steady in the boat and understanding that this game against Illinois, if we play well, will come down to the end -- and you have to make one more play than the other team. "I am steady in the boat. But I’m only going to worry about the people in the boat."

Is that a promise from Rhule? Might be time to hang it up then if we can’t handle fans being mad at the 10 million dollar salaried guy that sucks at his job. Nobody should yell at his kids, but c’mon man he’s gotta suck it up a bit. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

"I said to my daughter, 'If daddy’s gotta retire, if I have retire because I don’t want you guys growing up in that environment..." His younger daughter, who is 10, implored him not to quit. And Rhule clarified that he's fighting through this three-game losing streak. "I'm not leaving," he said. "I'm not quitting. I’m fighting for those people. For the people who are listening to the game while they’re on a combine. We are going to fight for those people. But please don’t ever question how hard these kids are working or how hard these coaches are working or how hard I’m working."

Agreed on all points here. My Wife and I just finished watching the Saban documentary. She’s a casual football fan in our house. During the documentary she’d say ā€œman it sure would be nice if Nebraska could find a process oriented HCā€. With Rhule we don’t have that at all.
Why I’m done with this team and Matt Rhule as HC: (long) First off, to your question Ryan, I’ve been ā€œseeing somethingā€ for 2 yrs now. Last night was just the final confirmation for me. I started seeing red flags after yr 2 and the Iowa loss-a game in which Nebraska dominated. In short, I was seeing Rhule was showing signs of being more like PJ Fleck than Dan Lanning. I also saw a guy who I don’t think knows he who he wants to be or is comfortable in his own skin. Or as @HuskersX says it perfectly, ā€œHe doesn’t have an anchorā€. So you see him wanting to be someone he is not. It’s why his actions don’t match his words. Why his details and plans don’t match his original vision (which I believed in), and why he overcorrects on everything instead of staying centered. And it’s why like Fleck, he’s freaking out on the refs all game long. It’s exhausting. Last yr, 2 events told me we had serious issues with Rhule as HC, the MN loss and not going for it on 4th and 1 vs USC from our own 32 (after calling a timeout to think about it). So for this yr, it was a bottom line yr for me to see if Rhule could be more than just a program builder and could go from ā€œGood to Greatā€. A minimum of 8 wins would be needed to show that. But what I saw last night, was the final straw of what I needed to see to know that the answer is ā€œno.ā€ Still an undisciplined team (except on D) and a HC stressed out and yelling from the opening kick, players not making winning plays and inability to win. In short, Matt Rhule doesn’t have ā€œitā€ and he never will. It sucks, but it is what is is and we deserve a Great HC, someone who can take the foundation that Rhule built, and build a winner in ever since of the word. I wish the team luck, but I’m done watching them play.

I think the harsh reality is this is who Rhule is. We have been waiting and waiting and waiting for the Year 3 Rhule bump and maybe the Rhule Year 4 bump and it's just not coming. He's the same coach every year. Has never beaten a ranked team. Can't beat inferior teams. Loses at home in excruciating fashion. One score games. 4th quarter Meltdowns every single week. Bad execution. Bad special teams. No fight to finish a game. No closers on the team. This is who he is.
