I was delightfully surprised by Jesse Eisenberg’s #TheDebut, with it taking a “feel-good” tale to darker territory and adding some unexpected absurdist twists. Tour de force work from Moore and Giamatti. My review over at @CinapseFilm
This one stings. RIP sir 🥃

LAIKA have weaved their magic yet again. Get out and support #WILDWOOD, not just as a towering example of stop-motion filmmaking, but of storytelling in general.

Incredible. A muscular, and visceral work. #TheDevils hasn’t lost an ounce of potency or relevancy in 55 years. Just electrified after that. ⚡️🐊

YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING. The ultimate exploration of perspective and power, between three messed up psyches. The most hypnotic thing you’ll see this year.

🫡 This whole Cornell affair is disgusting. Everyone involved in the act and the coverup needs a sound reckoning.

"Avengers: Doomsday" star Alan Cumming says "I don’t fully understand the plot" of the movie ("I’m here to run around") and he only acted with Florence Pugh's stunt double.
“There was a bit when we were shooting a scene, and it was one of the rare scenes when I was actually on the backlot and not in front of a blue screen. And this man came and said, ‘So right now Alan, these giant robots are blah blah,’ and started to tell me the thing, and I was like, ‘You know what, thank you so much, but just tell me where I point my, whatever I point. And I’ll do that. Really, I just know I’m here to run around'... And I saw Florence Pugh yesterday at the Emmys. And I said, ‘Gosh, it’s so funny. I’ve never met you, but you lay on top of me, or your body double did.’ And she goes, ‘Yeah I lay on top of you as well, but it was your body double.'" (via SiriusXM)

SWALLOW is atrocious. A new low for a #fantasticfest closing night movie.
SICK. A long summer at grandma’s gets weird. Very weird. In a taboo-breaking, genre tilting way.
Certainly an experience. More of a crowd rouser than a pleaser. Probably the most bodily secretions I’ve seen in a movie at #FantasticFest
