Black Poplar trees are distinctive along the Thames Path, mainly because there are so few of them! A new project aims to restore Black Poplars through the Thames valley by using DNA tests to identify suitable trees for propagating and planting to create a connected network of new trees along the Thames, helping restore a species that's been part of the landscape for centuries. Fabulous photos of dawn skies over the River Thames at Teddington this morning, from the amazing @patlinberg Thank you! It's easy to see how these sunrise skies influenced artists such as JMW Turner who loved being on and beside the River Thames here.

Lovely view of All Saints church, Bisham from the Thames Path National Trail. This section of the public footpath is still open between Marlow and Temple Lock. Thank you @MyMarlowUK
All Saints’ Church in Bisham at 8.30am. Like the rowers, I’m trying to make the most of the day before the forecast rain arrives! Have a good weekend all, and today we have Marlow Artisan Market in Alison Court Gardens 10am-4pm 😊

What do you think about a new temporary route for the Thames Path between Hurley and Marlow? The potential new route was displayed at a public information event hosted by the Environment Agency on 16 Oct. The route requires permissions from private landowners as well work by the Environment Agency to widen weir walkways and provide alternatives to steep steps.
