When allegations of violence against a public figure emerge, others may feel safer speaking up. When one woman publicly accuses a celebrity of violence, others may come forward because they finally feel less alone or safer speaking. Delayed disclosure alone neither proves nor disproves a claim. Yes, false accusations can and do happen, but rushing to judgment can turn allegations into verdicts or dismiss victims prematurely. It’s a shit situation. I’m not going to pretend I know what happened, but the allegations against Jacobs continue to be very concerning.
Smear campaign on Jacobs man we gotta stop. No charges why is that coming out anonymously like that when he never got in trouble I don’t like that
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Josh Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property after his May arrest and was placed on the NFL exempt list. Additional prior allegations from three women were included in police records released publicly via records request. espn.com/nfl/story/_/id… nytimes.com/athletic/75783… espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…

Cool. Now imagine the kind of vile messages that an 18-year-old college girl received after you spread false rumors about her sex life on your giant platform of a show.
It’s been a fun October.. excited to get to Halloween. Here’s a couple fun screenshots from this month. I don’t know if Karey from Derry is real or not but, the picture on the left is from a very real man in Ohio. I’ve stayed away from my mentions and DM’s this month since these back to back days but.. I’m sure if I went in there now, I’d find some wishes for and threats of death for me. “Don’t read them.” They’re everywhere. Annnd.. They still exist though right? I just don’t know the person is in Ohio then? That’s where I’m at now. So I do get a bit fucked up when a couple days after The New York Times releases a “WE ARE ALLOWED TO AND SHOULD HATE THIS GUY” piece, a University puts a video out from their own page, indicating “we think he’s a corny creep here.” It’s a weird time. The things that get said about what my daughter and son and wife deserve are all rather wild as well. I haven’t talked to anybody about what the days were like leading up to Tennessee’s GameDay last year. There’s been some misreporting but in the ball park articles. Everybody in the “security” world was worried of a copycat incident potentially happening. GameDay was a few days out and we were the next huge gathering on a campus. The world, in front of the entire internet, just proved that we had gotten to a rather extreme place. The FBI.. alongside, Disney security, Tennessee State Police, Knoxville PD, University Police, everybody in area, all had the very same goal to protect the shit out of the area. FBI snipers were sent down there, huge presence of police.. it was a surreal moment. The conversation about the death threats I had been receiving in life was definitely a huge topic. I don’t think it was the FBI that suggested the Bullet Proof Vest, but it was certainly an idea presented by one of the security groups. We had no idea what to expect. Nobody had been in that type of situation before. Everybody wanted the best for everybody. I never felt safer and never felt more appreciative of the people that were around me that morning including the students that came out and did WAY more than they could’ve ever imagined for my soul. How’d we get here? I had to wrestle with that a bit. FBI’s sending snipers so me and the lads don’t get shot. That’s crazy. I don’t know if they teach how you’re supposed to handle these types of things in classes or something but, I was a bit rattled by the current reality of my World. I think what I realized was, when I talked about the Algerian Olympic Gold Medal boxer, and then I was HEADLINE Quoted and Captioned by platforms with rather large influence over certain communities, they left out the massive empathy part of the conversation that I had about the entire subject. I was labeled and immediately targeted. Such is life I guess.. since then, every mistake, misstep or misquote relaunches A LOT of folks into a frenzy of me being the worst person on Earth who needs to be eliminated, and they gain more and more folks who want me unalived or as they actually say it “Kirked.” I was created on the internet. I’ve been “cooked” and shit talked and criticized since I have memories. I am no where near perfect.. and there’s no way everybody is gonna agree with me but I had no idea that this is just what life would become. I’m trying my best in real time but.. I am to talk about sports and care about the future of sports. I owe everything to sports. I’m grateful as hell to do what I do. I literally try to love every minute of the incredible opportunities I get to experience but.. it’s certainly all a much different life than I could’ve ever expected. I try to give everything I have, all the time.. I am very sorry to those that despise me. The video is how I opened The Tennessee show.. I put on a USA Sports Coat and celebrated Ball. I love sports because it’s unifying. That’s all I’m ever trying to be… actually. & Connor.. I LOVE YOU BROTHER, I’m sorry I’ve brought you lads into all of this as well.

Reason #1 I love hardcore - it fucking stands for something bigger than itself. The kids you call outcasts in middle school for liking this music (me) turn into the people helping the most in this world. Free all oppressed and marginalized nations and people! 🤘🏻

Happy Edge to those who are forever out of step. ❌ ❌ ❌ shouts to Have Heart and Davey Havok for being my first intro to straightedge and for changing my life for the better.
Happy Edge Day to all my friends and strangers too. Finding straight edge in high school truly changed my life for the better, and seeing the other side in the worst ways made me feel happy to have a name for the way of life I’ve lived for decades now. ❌❌❌

Introducing PLAN X RECORDS, a new home for straight edge hardcore music. PX001 releases tonight at Midnight, on Edge Day, from a brand new band called ALIVE. I have been straight edge since I was 14 years old, and I’ve never thought twice, looked back, OR thought myself above or better than anyone. But what I do know is that in a world that teaches us to numb ourselves, straight edge taught me how to feel. In a culture that profits from our continuous destruction, it can be the ultimate weapon… Against apathy, against excess, and most importantly, against the slow surrender of the self. I have never understood the notion that we must poison our minds to escape our reality, we need only the strength to change it. There’s always a better way. Initiate Plan X. All I ever wanted was a black grand national… congrats man, she’s a beaut!
When my dad died 4 years ago he left me his prized possession, his ‘86 Buick Grand National. I was finally able to get it shipped to me this summer and now it’s all fixed up and ready to hit the road again.

While you put on your whore outfit to go to the slutty gym, remember what @ulxma taught us: under patriarchy, the words ‘prostitute’ and ‘woman’ mean the same thing.

Between Dan Levy calling out Shane Gillis’ misogyny on SNL and Jacob Tierney calling out the NHL (and not mincing words!) for hiring four rapists recently, I’m grateful for the queer Canadian men showing everyone else how to be an ally to women even when it’s no longer a trending topic.

Republicans love to say they're the party that protects women. Then a woman peacefully protests at their Youngstown rally, gets beaten by the crowd, and gets dragged out by police while her attackers stay right where they were. You can't call yourself the party of women while you're hiding the Epstein files and cheering when women get hit for asking about them.

In the past few weeks, we’ve learned about a woman dismembered by a man, a woman thrown off a balcony with her child by the father of her child, and now we know about the Cornell 7. And I barely see outrage from men. This is what patriarchy and sexism look like in real time. Women are experiencing violence, and somehow the outrage is never proportional to the harm. Pay attention to who gets loud, who stays silent, and whose lives are treated as disposable.

A special message for Shane Gillis and all the men caping for him. And that’s why this is a problem. Because we know what you lot think it’s acceptable to do to women you consider “whores.” You’ve all been screeching about it on here nonstop since the Cornell case broke.
