My dad lost a large portion of his leg last July. He was devastated and slipped into depression.

I've met John multiple times and he was a consummate professional in every encounter.
Made my job as an interviewer a breeze everytime he sat down with us and stopped to ask how I was doing when I ran into him at the ballpark.
Very friendly, personable, outgoing guy who didn't need to give me the time of day, but chose to anyway.
This isn't a defense on his tenure with the White Sox, that's subjective and everyone is entitled to their opinions on how he did in the booth. He grew on me last year, but I'm not going to pretend he was Vin Scully up there.
What I will say is he walked into a hornets nest when he took the job when Benetti went to Detroit and worked his ass off to make an entertaining broadcast around a 100+ loss club.
All Mr. Bernstein has done here is, once again, prove he's a cynical old fool who belongs in the obscurity he put himself in by spouting his shitty fucking opinions nobody asked for.
