The situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is out of control.
In Gaza, essential aid is still being severely restricted by Israel.
In the occupied West Bank, Palestinians continue to suffer daily attacks by Israeli settlers and journalists & diplomats are being attacked.
There must be a credible political path towards lasting peace, ending the occupation and realizing a two-State solution, with Israel & Palestine living side by side in peace & security.
What can be said for sure is the BBC will be around long after Trump has descended to hell.
Really glad the BBC is standing up for itself, in a way other US networks didn’t. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cmy0…

Within the next 48 hours, if flour is not allowed into Gaza, all bakeries in the city will stop producing bread.
We are facing an enormous catastrophe. Famine is knocking on our doors once again, and this time, it could be worse than anything we have experienced before.
Please, do not remain silent! Talk about Gaza, make our voices heard around the world, and do everything you can before thousands of people lose access to something as basic as a loaf of bread.

Can you imagine being a mother or father, looking at your young children and knowing they need basic necessities you can't provide? Trying to appear strong in front of them, while inside you're exhausted, unsure how you'll manage the next day? And then, on top of all that, having to explain your struggles to others, asking them to help you make your voice heard, because you can no longer face everything alone?
This is my reality, not just words I'm writing to elicit sympathy.

Every single donation, no matter how small, is a profound testament to humanity. Living crammed inside a tight plastic and nylon tent with my seven children, including my infant baby girl, is a daily battle for survival. To everyone who takes a moment to quote, share, or contribute: may God bless your wealth and protect your children. Your solidarity is the only light piercing through our darkest hours.

I tell myself every day: Don’t die. Don’t get tired.
Check on the children. Look for water. Check if there are any holes in the tent so the water doesn’t leak in. Then stand up — don’t die.
Don’t you dare die from some silly illness. Resist. Save your tears for a more painful day. Don’t you dare say, “I’m tired.”
Look for food. Don’t be afraid of the bombing. Gather your things and flee. Set up a tent. Flee again — don’t get tired.
Write, and then write, and then write. Write your own death with your own hands — don’t let anyone write about you.
Live, and don’t die.
I recall learning from a nursing home where I had a relative that government policy compelled them to take in a Covid patient during the epidemic. They were as outraged as I was. I told @ameliagentleman and it rightly made front pages. This level of negligence must be punished.

💔 I am in Gaza, suffering from hunger and thirst. All I want today is to provide food and water for my family.
Please, don't leave me to face this pain alone. 🙏🇵🇸
If just 10 people donate $10 each, we can raise $100 to help provide food and water for my family.
$10 might seem like a small amount to you, but it means so much to us in these terrible circumstances. Please stand by my side. Every donation makes a difference. 💔

GIVE HOPE TO GAZA’S REMOTE CAMPS🙏
chuffed.org/project/pleasehe…
THIS TRUCK CARRIES MORE THAN WATER. IT CARRIES HOPE. 💔
In the hearts of Gaza, we continue to move daily towards remote camps with thousands of liters of clean water for families that the world often forgets.
Every journey comes at a high cost, especially with soaring fuel prices. But we refuse to abandon these families while they are still waiting.
Your donation helps keep this truck moving and clean water flowing to those who need it most.

Why are these balaclava'd thugs called 'settlers'? They either live in illegal encampments or aspire to. And commit crimes of violence against people seeking to examine what they do.
Israeli settlers have attacked a European diplomatic mission in the West Bank, a day after a separate assault left an American photojournalist with broken vertebrae.
Representatives from France, Belgium and Poland said that the settlers pelted their vehicles with stones, while a French mayor reported being assaulted during a visit to a Palestinian Christian village.
This footage was likely filmed shortly after the attacks 👇

Right: One of the 3,600 old people arrested for non violent protest because of a policy Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper rolled out; this one, the daughter of a Holocaust survivor
Never forget Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper's legacy which has seen thousands arrested for non violent protest.
At the Labour party conference Cooper tried to dismiss her involvement in the policy, even though she announced it and implemented it.
In opposition Cooper was a rockstar calling out the chaos, cruelty and injustice of the Conservatives. In office, she has done worse than Suella Braverman and Priti Patel combined.
As Baron Hain said, the proscription is “intellectually bankrupt, politically unprincipled and morally wrong.”
And that is how you should remember Yvette Cooper, “intellectually bankrupt, politically unprincipled and morally wrong.”

This is Limoges city hall. On fire.
Storming and setting fire to seats of democratic government is insurrectionary violence. No grievance gives anyone the right to do this.
Students have legitimate grievances. This violence is burying them. The missing teachers, overcrowded classrooms and anxiety about the future disappear behind the destruction.
For a politics built on permanent confrontation, that can be useful. Mélenchon’s strategy connects separate grievances into a single indictment of the system. The confrontation becomes the cause.
And violence feeds on perceived weakness. When the state appears to have disappeared, people test its limits. Each retreat invites another challenge. A kind of madness takes hold: destroying the institutions we depend on comes to look like liberation.
I wrote in June that democracy rests on a promise: that the state is strong enough to guarantee everyone the same protection, the same rights and the same rules. When that promise breaks, the consequences extend far beyond security.
Fear spreads. People protect themselves because they no longer trust that they will be protected together. They retreat into their group, their community, their identity. Those promising order gain ground. Distrust replaces the confidence that makes a common life possible.
And is exploited by all those, inside and outside the country, who want to see it burn!
