I know an identical story about a missionary who spent $500 to buy a "smart one" a plot of land and teach him how to raise a crop. First harvest knitted the African $2500 like made him wealthy
Five yrs later: missionary returns. African never replanted. Lives in a shack
My uncle did a mission trip to Africa to teach a village how to raise pigs for food.
They flew in with a bunch of pigs, built pens for them, Food and water troughs, and taught them how to breed them so they could always have meat. Two weeks of work and teaching.
They went back a year later to check on the village. They had thrown a giant party the night after my uncle left, slaughtered and ate all the pigs, sold the feeders and fencing, and were really pissed off that the mission didn't bring them more pigs.

According to CPJ data as of September 2026, Israeli forces killed 241 journalists and media workers in the conflict and related fighting. Hamas killed 4 Israeli ones on October 7, 2023. One more Palestinian was killed by a local armed group. CPJ has removed dozens after reviews found combatant ties; the IDF claims far higher militant affiliations among those listed.

What's the MOST agreed-upon doctrine in Protestantism?
Many people will say Faith Alone or Scripture Alone. But I would argue that denominations disagree on what those mean in practice
I would argue that acceptance of contraception is the most agreed-upon doctrine. Only the Mormons reject it as far as I know. There might be a few more. But I'd easily say 95% of Protestants accept contraception
Funny enough though, prior to 1930, every single Protestant denomination condemned contraception. They all changed after 1930

Reese's Pieces have no chocolate in them. The peanuts had their oil pressed out and a cheaper fat put back in.
Sugar is first, then partially defatted peanuts, then hydrogenated palm kernel and soybean oil, then corn syrup solids. Everything after that is 2% or less, and it's the dyes, the glaze, some vanillin and a little milk. There's no cocoa anywhere.
Partially defatted just means the peanuts went through a press. The peanut oil comes out one side and gets sold as peanut oil. What's left is a dry peanut flour, and that's what the center is made from, because flour holds a shape in a panning drum and doesn't go rancid. Then they put fat back in, and the fat they picked is hydrogenated palm kernel oil, which is solid at room temperature and costs less than peanut oil. You can see the swap on the panel. 38 pieces have 6 g of fat and all 6 are saturated. Peanut oil is mostly unsaturated, so that number isn't the peanut.
The shell is sugar with 4 dyes and a coat of shellac.

Good morning prayer warriors. I have a special request today. As many of you know, this was an especially difficult spring and summer for Dan. Multiple hospital stays and surgeries, emergency room visits and time in ICU, as well as several infections. Well, today is Danβs birthday. It would mean a great deal to me if you could find a moment in your day to ask God to continue to be with Dan and Brenna through this journey, and possibly even give them a break from their daily struggles. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. I will take your well wishes to Dan tonight (along with his favorite carrot cake).
