The uniquely American experience, full circle.
One of the people injured in a mass shooting this week told @GavinNewsom he was trying to get out of the hospital ASAP because he couldn't afford the medical bill.

I’m sorry. You can’t just raise an entire generation on Captain Planet, the Magic Schoolbus, and Steve Irwin and expect us to be okay with destroying the world for data centers.

If he wants to be a tough guy and veto everything….democrats should just start passing everything like raise minimum wage, do healthcare, childcare, even do the $5K checks that he promised and have him veto it all

Ron DeSantis explains why the GOP "screaming socialism" doesn't work anymore:
"Young people have a very positive view of socialism compared to capitalism. The question is, why is that? Some of it is the education in our universities. But I think a big part of that is, what they're comparing is not free enterprise versus socialism. What they're comparing is how government gets involved in business, and you have crony capitalism. The best kind of indirect supporters of socialism are some of these corporatist republicans who propagate these crony policies. The average person is seeing that and saying, 'Wait a minute, you're trying to bend the government to funnel benefits to this corporation or that industry. What about having a competitive market? ... Young people really aren't seeing that. They're seeing just a handful of companies that have an outsized influence on our economy and on our society"

Interesting. Sen. Elissa Slotkin says conversations to challenge Schumer are “happening rapidly.”
Replying to @daveweigel
Favreau not giving up… “there’s never been a woman majority leader in the history of the Senate. Nobody has said they’re willing to run and challenge Chuck Schumer.”
Someone in crowd says “do it!”
Slotkin: “It’s an open field and those conversations are happening rapidly.”
“I don’t have any big announcements to make but those conversations are happening right now.”
Favreau: “It sounds like you’re not saying no, you won’t run for majority leader.”
“… I’m not ruling anything out.”
To my ears it sounds like she is pre-spinning how Schumer critics will justify him being leader again. But if you have different ears it sounds like she wants to run for leader.
I prefer my ears.

The backlash against data centres should be the beginning of a much bigger conversation about the tech industry. We need less technology forced into every corner of our lives, not more. Cars don’t need giant screens, refrigerators don’t need computers, and every aspect of our lives doesn’t need to be monitored, tracked or turned into another app designed to collect our personal data.

This some tick tack sht. That’s a touchdown inbounds. Knocking it out out of bounds shouldn’t mean squat.
