We ask players to be open to feedback, try unfamiliar things and accept mistakes as part of learning.
How often do we put ourselves in that same position?
Wanting to develop and being willing to feel uncomfortable might be two different things.
What do you no longer believe about coaching that you once felt certain about?
It’s a question worth sitting with.
I’d be interested in what changed your thinking: a player, a conversation, an experience, or something that simply stopped working?
I’ve been quiet here. A broken leg and a tough few months gave me plenty of time to reflect.
One question I’m coming back with:
How much space do we give coaches to think, when we’re so busy giving them more to do?

Another weekend of coach development work.
Some key reflections
1. Never lose sight that principles underpin the game
2. coach technical or tactical, if you can’t show then you need to know
3. just like a director, know the scene you’re looking for before it’s time
