1) Bjorn Lomborg on Fox news Debunked xitter.cf/TheDisproof/status/163…
🧵You may have seen a misleading climate related deaths graph used by climate change deniers. It originated from Bjorn Lomborg using data that included policy & war related deaths. He has been spreading a misleading statistic on Fox news. This 2 part video debunks it. #climate

This death toll should be treated as the national scandal it is. An estimated 4,354 people have died in UK heatwaves since June. The Government has yet to explain how, or what it will do to be ready before next summer.

Google illegally cleared an estimated 250,000 trees across 330 hectares of forest in Muhos, northern Finland, to prepare for a new AI data center before completing mandatory environmental impact assessments And another 150,000 trees felled at Otanmäki theguardian.com/environment/…

Ellie Chowns addresses domestic gas e.g. from Jackdraw vs imported gas #BBCQT "Jackdraw has created more gas circulating in the world's economy that will be burned, so it will increase climate change" "On the emissions of British gas being lower, that's not true" "Norwegian gas produces lower emissions because they don't do flaring" "And if you take into account emissions created by the burning of this stuff, even American produced gas is basically the same environmental damage as we produce" My view: The question is not whether one source of gas is marginally less polluting than another. It is whether expanding fossil fuel production is compatible with cutting emissions. If we want lasting energy security, we need to reduce our dependence on gas by building renewables, storage and the grid—not keep approving new fields and calling them green.

@anika_climate Yesterday she said she's willing to debate anyone, but it has to be live streamed. Yesterday I reminded her that we can do live streaming on X, using Spaces. Yesterday, you blocked me immediately after I wrote that- if you were a scientist you wouldn't do that

Europe is building its own capability to reach, land and operate on the Moon. Bringing together expertise from across Europe, Argonaut will deliver cargo and technology to the lunar surface, starting with its first mission from 2030. 🔗esa.int/Science_Exploration/…

The speed limits on Starlink and Starshield are still there. The speed has not been restored. And the delivery of interceptors to protect us against Russian ballistic missiles is still delayed. We’re waiting for interceptors that were already agreed on. But they are still not coming. This is a real problem, because the Russians attack us almost every single day. All of this is happening while we continue our quite successful operations on the front. We keep defending positions. Things have become harder – partly because of the Starlink and Starshield policies and speed limits. But our frontline is still holding and I am proud of how strong our people are. Tom, all you’ve posted so far are childish insults, accusations of thousands of climate scientists all being “grifters”, vague appeals to the authority of some unnamed retired “sceptics” and outright dismissal of all the science and mountains of evidence without even looking at any of it. What test would you accept as capable of falsifying the CO2 ‘greenhouse’ effect, given that you’d first need to understand the underlying radiative physics and the existing satellite measurements of reduced outgoing radiation in the CO2 bands before you could even design or recognise a meaningful falsifying test? geosci.uchicago.edu/~rtp1/pa…

Fake scientist Anika Sweetland just claimed there is no such thing as "average (mean) ocean surface temperature" because ships dont measure every sq m of the ocean. Hint for Anika: it is collected by over 4000 ARGO buoys, ships AND satellites. See data.marine.copernicus.eu/pr…

P.s. ARGO buoys measure ocean temps (strictly speaking ocean heat content) several 1000m under the ocean too.

I have yet to have an answer to this: "If" AI causes massive unemployment and AI has zero or low taxes on it, why are govts rushing so fast to help AI firms? Why isnt there high tax on AI firms to cover the social cost of unemployment caused by AI?

You don't think at all Anika. What you do is block those who ask you to address evidence 👇

The government makes no secret of the fact that further drilling at Jackdaw will not make energy bills go down. The question is then: why do it? Will the government admit it is working on behalf of the energy lobbyists rather than the people who voted it in?

.@bbcquestiontime Britain imports fossil fuels because the North Sea is a declining basin. We became a net importer of gas in 2004 and oil in 2005. New drilling cannot reverse that decline. Our dependence on gas leaves us exposed to global price shocks. First Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, now the war in Iran. Households and businesses keep paying the price. The US benefits from abundant, cheap shale gas. Britain has no proven equivalent capable of delivering American Nat gas prices. China is electrifying faster than any other major economy. We should be accelerating too, replacing fossil fuels with renewables, insulation, heat pumps and electric transport. Why keep arguing for dependence on the fuels driving these crises, instead of getting off them as fast as possible 🤦‍♂️#bbcqt
