'The First Year', a moving portrait by @IanKMcDonald of @MayorJD, with great Q&A chaired by @SarCampbel @tynesidecinema #NEIFF. A decent, down to earth politician and true socialist. Sad to see friends in the film who are no longer with us.

The inside story of @MayorJD's first year as North of Tyne Mayor. A story of a nation in crisis, of a country at the crossroads, and how one man from the provinces bucked the national trend to become a self-declared Corbyn-supporting 'socialist in power'.
