In Doves, we had lots of fun in maths trying to reach 100! 🎯 Using four digits to create four numbers that totalled 100 proved to be a great challenge. We showed fantastic resilience, perseverance and progress. #TheGatesMaths

The Eco team made a trip into Westhoughton to plant fresh bulbs into the planters. Make sure you take a look when you pass by to see if you can spot them growing!

We had so much fun making chocolate apples as part of our science linked to our topic this week of Bonfire Night. We talked about what happens to the chocolate when we heated it. #thegatesscience #thegateseyfs

We love to celebrate the curiosity and engagement children show in their own learning inside and outside of school. What talented children we have!

We are delighted to be one of the first schools in the UK to be participating in the new ‘Move Makers’ initiative. We will be rewarding children for travelling to school by: park/stride, walking and wheeling or using public transport where they can. We want our school area to be safer, less congested and with less pollution so we can be happier and healthier in our minds and bodies. Thanks to the Living Streets team for introducing us to Strider and the exciting rewards the children will receive. This compliments our work with School Streets where we are seeing changes in the way our children travel to school making for a healthier and safer start to the day for many of our children.

Falcons have been using their knowledge of synonyms to play human noughts and crosses. They had lots of fun and were very competitive with the language they used #TheGatesEnglish #OutdoorLearning

One of my half-term reads was this dystopian page-turner written by one of our parents! It can be borrowed from our adult book-swap trolley in our entrance!
