I have been blessed to meet many apostles of Jesus Christ in my lifetime. When I was a deacon I met L Tom Perry and shook his hand holding the Scriptures and the work and the glory. He said to me, “those are some great books, keep reading.” When I was a priest I sat in a home with D Todd Christofferson. He said the most important thing I could do was learn to pray. This became very prophetic in my life. As a missionary I met President Oaks, President Holland, Elder Cook, Elder Soares (he drove my car for the few days he was there). Later when the Fort Lauderdale Temple open house happened I met Elder Stevenson. He placed his hand on my shoulder and said, “Elder, these are your 4 minutes,” referencing his conference talk. In that same moment I also waved to President Uchtdorf, President Christofferson, and Elder Rasband. After my mission I attended the ward of President Oaks and Elder Ballard and was asked to pass the sacrament in their ward with my brothers. Each of these experiences have been very special to me. We have modern Peter, James, and John’s walking the earth. They have taught us to learn of Jesus Christ, follow Jesus Christ, and become like Jesus Christ. I know they are witnesses of Him.
