the fix is a decibel limit written into the permit, and that only works before it's built. once it's running, playing the noise at a meeting is about all residents have left

That needs to be blasted in every town meeting. Good for them. Paid of politicians can eat it.

The council members should be made to feel uncomfortable every time they're out in public, and refused service everywhere they go. This is the kindest option.

“Oh ya have to live with it”
What a smug asshole. It’s noise surrounding their HOMES. Of course they have to fucking live with it. Not everyone can move. And who wants to buy a house near a noisy data center??

Carroll County, Kentucky, residents play data center noise at a Fiscal Court meeting to make a point about the noise pollution they now live with.
They are met with incredulous and condescending remarks.

I have voted Republican all my life. I ran as an independent for my county board seat. Even with 10,000 pac money against me I won. Will be running as independent for my school board race too. Parties are toxic right now.

Imagine if in all these states we ran independent candidates who would take the Dem grievances off the table? We would not only get a more conservative option but often serve as the only option to beat the Democrats. I promise you the longer we go avoiding the surgery, the worse it will get.

I think I have already told you this. Others should know. My friend works by a HS DC in Southaven. The noise is louder than the equipment in his machine shop 😳
We have to make Florida (already unfavorable with its hot climate) even more unfavorable to data center wankers by making our local ordinances too strict

No man who works to feed his children and keep a roof over their heads is a loser.
What an absolute loser. 50 years old, 4 kids, a mortgage and he works as what, a grocery stocker?
Women need to be WAY pickier about who they reproduce with. Maybe he could be chill if he were doing his little grocery stocking job as a single man.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The man in the video is a Red Baron representative stocking frozen pizzas in a grocery store. He stated he has four kids and struggles to pay his mortgage amid long hours; no reports confirm he is 50 years old, and the clip shows him responding to a prank.

Yes, Florida PACE is so careful with homeowners’ money: it paid its departing boss $100,767 upfront for six months of “transition” work, then couldn’t show auditors what he did. The check cleared six days after he became Sarasota tax collector. Let’s keep funding this circus.
The reason FL Dept of Health should care about noise pollution is the tremendous negative health impacts of relentless 24/7 dBA noise
If Donalds wins, we need to start a campaign to keep Dr. Ladapo. I know people think some of his ideas are out there, but he’s very much for medical freedom and I think he’ll help us (as much as possible in the SG role) with the noise pollution we face with the threat of data centers and other large facilities (like big weed grow facilities) as well.

So now we have to fight tooth and nail to win every red state to simply get some of the most corporatist RINO losers in power. What the hell are we even doing? Can we finally build a movement that rides or dies on its own beliefs? This is what happens with fake populism, it comes around in a circle and become more aristocratic than even the previous iteration of the GOP. The lost decade of Animal Farm.
