I think about August 15, 2024. The day Larry Thompson bought the #Elks franchise and saved the team from financial disaster. He said his goal was to get the team back to it's winning ways. Then Chris Morris, Ed Hervey, and Mark Kilam came aboard to fix the internal structure of the organization, and they did that. Then it was finding the right players on the field which isn't easy to do. Ed Hervey and his staff did the hard work to find not just to find talented players but to find good people. 2025 was rough but something was being built. Fast forward to present day and the Elks are headed back to the post-season for the first time in six...very...long...years. The Thompson Family led by Deb continues to lead the way and provide the stability for the franchise. They are an awesome family and the Elks organization are run like a family. The most important relationship is the one they have re-established with the community. Long-time fans and building new fans. The fans have been taken for granted, under-valued, and dismissed for too long by past regimes. This is their moment, a moment they have been waiting to see for far too long. An organization that cares and values their fans and a winning product. There's still a lot of work to do but relish in that 'X' because it's a huge moment for the fans and the Elks organization. Game recap will come in the morning.
