Jonathan Ames playing to a packed house @TheMysterious tonight. His Happy Doll series is brilliant.
TONIGHT, 6 PM, we're thrilled to welcome Jonathan Ames—the author famously played by Jason Schwartzman in Bored to Death—to the shop tomorrow night with his new noir tale, A PAST WITHOUT PICTURES. It’s a terrific read and should be a great event.

The Mysterious Bookshop is not quite where it began for Ellroy, but in the 80s it's where he began to be considered a major voice in crime fiction. Great to see the relationship is still strong #redsheet
