I’ve noticed a certain psychological disposition among chronically ill people who are absolutely convinced that nothing they do could ever improve their health. I think the same patterns of thinking that lead them to believe improvement is impossible are what prevent them from recognizing or pursuing opportunities to change their circumstances. Learned helplessness easily becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I think it’s absolutely insane how, despite the overwhelming evidence of the harm it can cause, people will still defend hormonal birth control like their lives depend on it. I promise you there are other ways to address hormonal imbalances (which hormonal birth control does NOT actually correct, btw), and there are other ways to avoid getting pregnant. The normalization of suppressing women’s natural hormonal function as a solution to virtually every reproductive health concern is absolutely absurd.
“Safe and effective” Hormonal birth control is evil.

Sorry if no one has told you this before, but you're not going to liberate yourself from the human condition without serious costs.

Obsessed with Gordita hair growth elixir! I used to need to wash my hair every 2-3 days but now it stays clean for 5-6 days when I use it before washing. It’s incredible for scalp health. Their skincare is amazing too. Thank you @TheRawSol ❤️

Imagine hating on me and I’m just in the car eating olives and drinking the brine because I got a really intense craving for it.

This week I went to the pharmacy to pick up more LDN and ended up chatting with the pharmacist about MCAS, EDS, and POTS. She told me that all of her MCAS patients would likely need to take antihistamines daily for the rest of their lives. Lol? She also insisted that MCAS is purely genetic and spoke about it as though lifelong pharmaceutical management was essentially inevitable. I politely mentioned that I personally know several people with MCAS who have been able to come off antihistamines, manage their symptoms through other approaches, and experience significant improvements in their health. Her response? “Well, they probably don’t have MCAS then.” 😂 Apparently, improving to the point of no longer needing daily medication calls your original diagnosis into question? She proceeded to speak to me in an increasingly condescending manner, dismissing anything that challenged her understanding of the condition, until I eventually just walked out. Very strange interaction. It’s so concerning that “medical professionals” present one approach to managing a complex condition as though it is the only possible trajectory. This is particularly concerning with conditions like MCAS. I don’t know why I would expect anything different, but I found myself a bit shocked by this. Another beautiful reminder of how important it is to advocate for yourself and develop your own understanding of your health. You must be discerning about whose understanding of health you allow to shape your own. A medical professional’s interpretation is not an infallible truth, and a diagnosis should never become a story about the limitations of what your body is capable of.

Wanted to add to this, also the Liver blood and Kidney Jing plus replenishing that weakness with things like collagen. I’d imagine also the Spleen Qi is sinking. 🫶🏼 We tonify these three areas. And since the Essence (Jing) is slow to change and build back (we are born with both pre + post natal Jing and when our pre natal is gone (used up) it’s gone) we can work with the Spleen that is carrying the load through postnatal support of the prenatal essence, as it makes the qi and blood that will feed the Liver and our sinews. It also generates our wei qi (somewhat similar to immunity) and lifts up things and holds them. The root is our Kidney but the lever that is often worked with is the Spleen. The meeting point for all of these is in three of the zang (the deep organ systems that store) : Kidney jing as the root, Spleen as the hub or lever and the Liver governing the jin (our sinews). Fascia is one of the places where these 3 conditions would overlap inside the body physically. <3 The other places these three meet are in the vessel walls, joints and ligaments, our skin and our gut wall and then of course in the autonomic ✨
If you have POTS, MCAS, &/or hEDS, you need to be focusing on fascia work.
