My first novel is now available! Crazy About Kurt is a story about teenagers, the 90’s, Long Island and the death of an icon. Pick it up now on paperback or Kindle. @CrazyAboutKurt amazon.com/dp/1729589472/ref…
The Only Living Pickpocket in New York is an old school film about an old school guy in an old school city. I adored it. Turturro is as good as ever. It’s filled with great New York characters and faces. The whole thing reminded me of something Lumet would have made. Go see it.

This is the kind of game that real baseball-lovers (not a team's fans) love; it's why I still hate the ghost runner (though I get why it saves arms over the course of a season); I don't care who wins the game or this Series, it's just beautiful baseball.

People are filming scenes from YOU CAN SEE EVERYHING and sharing on socials. We need a real practical punishment system for cell phone usage in theaters. Because this "I paid for it, therefore it's mine" mindset is ruining moviegoing. Sheer megalomania & narcissistic entitlement.
If you want to know why the Yankees haven't won a World Series since '09, this is why. It's this attitude. What's unacceptable is the way they are treating champions like Posada.
Jorge Posada was asked if he thinks he could improve the Yankees "unacceptable" behaviors by bringing his fiery attitude and baseball instincts around the current team:
"I could, but I don't think they want me there. I don't feel welcome when I go there. Even in Spring Training... So I don't go."

Revisited Todd Haynes' FAR FROM HEAVEN last night like I do every fall. A feat of filmmaking/storytelling on every level. Both lovingly recaptures the Douglas Sirk aesthetic & rejects all empty nostalgia about the era. Should've been a Best Pic nominee. Ed Lachman should've won.

the kind of story that I would be embarrassed to tell, let alone hype up as some great achievement. sorry to marielle about your mom's level of awareness of you as a person
