No shade I can tell a lot of yβall parents was teenagers when they had you. But as the child of boomers, and the grandchild of the silent generationβ¦ if you werenβt directly putting money in somebodyβs hand (which I can say, I did not see a lot of) you was going to the store and showing up at grandmaβs house with the groceries/supplies that she or someone else asked you to bring. OR you were contributing to the meal and showing up with a couple pans of what you made. My dad has like 7 brothers and sisters, and his mama had like 12. Weβre black Californians by way of Louisiana, and no one ever expected my grandmother to foot the entire bill and cook an entire Thanksgiving meal for that many niggas, please.
