STICKY FINGERS by ROLLING STONES
My Mom's favorite band crept into my tastes. Mick Taylor had the smallest run of the Stones' guitarists (between Jones and Wood) but they are the absolute peak of the Stones to me, replacing psych with swagger and country blues

When politicians convince you that a tiny minority is a greater threat than poverty, homelessness, and unaffordable healthcare, you’re not witnessing leadership. You’re witnessing manipulation.

NO WORLD FOR TOMORROW by COHEED & CAMBRIA
I had dismissed them until the game Rock Band got me intrigued. Capable of building multilayered "suites" while just as adept at 4 minute singles. The absolute best in their genre bar none

THE GRAVES WE HOLD INSIDE by GRIEF CATHEDRAL
This one really surpassed my expectations. Debut ep from Kentucky funeral doom band. They pummel you with these slow plodding riffs but interwoven with divine almost Tori Amos like piano passages.
WHAT PLANET ARE YOU FROM? by GALACTIC COWBOYS
Been listening for 35 years. They are not as thrashy as they were in their youth but time has earned them cohesiveness. The songs are tight and each gets your toes tapping while delivering a thematic message. Welcome back Cowboys
You may not like them. Been a minute since I can recall a band trying to have an impact like this
This songs freaking crushes my skull

ESTUARY by WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM
Legendary USBM band. Incredible album. Saw a review say it sounds windswept and it fits. A bit older in style stripped of most of their folkier elements and almost hypnotic in spots
The nature reclaiming Earth theme fits their style so well
FROM THE DARK by IOMMI
Sabbath's guitarist releases his first solo album in 2 decades. Its very doomy of course and leans more to his Dio/Martin sound than the Oz years. Jorn Lande is a great singer who carries these songs well. Will I go back often? Ehh but its a great listen

EXCERPTS FROM A FUTURE PAST by HALLAS
I would tell you I dont like prog so the fact that these Swedish prog wizards are a favorite says something. Hints of Yes, Genesis, Wishbone Ash, etc all wrapped in a story of a mystical medieval world
I think I walked myself into running our Winter Disc Golf League today. Bad habit of being an organizer who gets looped into these things.
7 teams at 7 courses. We play a round of match and a round of doubles. Rain, shine, 3 feet of snow, 15 degrees. Were out there

THE SATANIST by BEHEMOTH
While I was always into extreme metal perhaps no album kindled a journey down the rabbit hole more than this one. It sounds so massive like the forces of hell itself opening up

BRAINCHILD by CIRCLE OF DUST
Industrialized thrash metal. Originally a side project since rereleased as a CoD album. They were unique because they weren't trying be another NIN and he makes great use of audio sampling to build sonic layers
