Egg layers are slaughtered in the egg industry before they are just two years old. They are roughly thrown from their cages in to trucks and stuffed in to crates with less care than vegetables. These are thinking feeling animals who we treat as nothing and nobody. #freerange

ALL commercial egg layers are sent to slaughter. That includes hens who lay free range organic eggs. This is how hens in a free range egg farm sleep. On metal poles to roost and a cold floor covered in feases to sleep on. say NO TO EGGS.

This is the reality for many layer hens in Australia. Caged or free range. They all suffer.
The best thing you can so to stop their suffering is to stop buying eggs.

Chicken families also begin communicating with each other even before the chicks have hatched. Mother hens “talk” to their eggs, often with a purring sound, and the chicks are able to “peep” back from inside their unhatched shells.

Chickens have been deemed to be smarter than your companion animal. Leading animal behaviour scientists know that they are inquisitive, interesting animals whose cognitive abilities are in some cases more advanced than those of cats, dogs, and even some primates. #respectchickens

We are heading towards climate chaos
To introduce legislative barriers at a point when science shows how important it is to shift towards plant-based diets is insane
