Welcome to The Scouting Spotlight
This account will be dedicated to scouting football recruits from both the high school and transfer portal ranks
The focus will be evaluating talent in a consistent and comprehensive manner from both video and in-person scouting
This is quite the accomplishment for quarterback Nick Minicucci against one of the most talented C-USA rosters
Especially when you consider future NFL quarterbacks like Joe Flacco and Rich Gannon were facing FCS competition
Listed at 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, Temple tight end Peter Clarke (0) is a handful to bring down in the flat
Nice chip on the defensive tackle as well
The real problem seemed to be the tight end being aligned off the LOS
It didn’t matter what Tyreek King did, either way would result in a penalty
If he stepped back off the LOS, there would be five men in the backfield…
“The wide receiver that covered [Tyreek King] up was eligible, but [King] became ineligible by position.”
Former SEC replay official Gerald Hodges on the ineligible man downfield ruling in the Vols’ 27-24 loss on @SportsTalkon991 w/ @VinceSports & @RobertAyersJr

There has been an uptick in receiving production for Temple tight end Peter Clarke (0) over the last three games
Facing a defense that wants to stop the run, his initial showing of a block makes the corner step up and he slips free
He worked open up the seams all game
Peter Clarke (0) pancakes the same exact defensive end on the play before as Temple converted the third down…
Trailing 24-20 with 12 min left
Temple takes out the NFL prospect Y-TE and puts backup in to go 1v1 vs edge
It goes as you would expect and UConn eventually scores a touchdown on the ensuing drive to effectively ice the game
Absolutely baffling decision…
Too many people are surprised to learn that their actions have consequences…
We have lost the plot on what the term “blue-chip” means for NFL prospects
NDSU will likely finish this year 10-2 with losses to two of the top G6 teams in the entire nation by a combined 11 points
Moving from FCS to G6 and immediately becoming a top 5 team at that level is a very successful season for the Bison…
Dave Doeren averaged 8 wins per year since 2020 (6 years) with no investment
Interesting decision from NC State to not invest into the program and then wonder why it was falling behind in the ACC
Surely, hiring another coach and not investing into him will be the solution!
BREAKING: NC State has fired head coach Dave Doeren, the school has announced.

Not going at Jesse Legree whatsoever at all…
… but holding a HS signing day type of announcement — in October — to share that you will be back with the same college you are currently at for the next season perfectly encapsulates where we are at with CFB.
Wild, wild times.
Jake Wilson (89) is CLUTCH!
After converting 4th-and-long to get in the red zone, he works up the seam for the game-tying TD on 3rd-and-goal
This score forced OT, where Wyoming picked up an impressive road win
Wyoming tight end Jake Wilson (89) converts a HUGE 4th-and-9 here
With his team down seven in the fourth quarter, he finds the soft spot to convert
Holds a near identical profile to current top draft prospect DJ Vonnahme with frame, movement and track times 👀
I am trying to watch and evaluate some of the players in the Wyoming offense
SJSU edge Jeremiah Tuiileila (45) is making that rather difficult so far
He leads the nation in pass rush win rate
3rd and long is a very dangerous situation when facing the SJSU defense
Facing one of the top mid major right tackles, Jeremiah Tuiileila (45) converts speed to power, earning a red zone sack
There’s also less pressure to be PERFECT right away, which is something that is ultimately killing these five star QBs
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that most of the top recent cfb QBs have begun at programs not expecting to win the CFP
(Cal, Tulane, UIW, UNT, D2, etc)
"One agent reps a current Group of Six starter, who was a backup at an SEC school in 2025. They said getting in-game tape now outweighs waiting out the chance to start in the Power Four."
Have stressed this over the last 18 months as a growing trend when talking to QB prospects and their team (family, trainers, agents)
I believe it's a good thing for the sport and QB development, but it makes stacking depth at the position harder than ever

University of Maryland is a public university. There’s nothing wrong with these students standing in a public place. They were not causing any harm or trying to breach the facility.
Great job in your reporting efforts Nolan & Jude.
For @testudotimes, @JudeWilkenfeld and I were outside Jones-Hill House trying to get players to comment. An athletics staffer took pictures of us, and a police dispatch was called for suspicious activity; a cop and 2 cop cars pulled up, and officers ID’d us and asked us to leave.
This seems like the best opportunity for Charles Huff to make the jump to P4
A string of hires that I could see resulting from the hiring of Huff this offseason…
Maryland: Charles Huff
Memphis: Jerry Mack
Kennesaw State: Joel Taylor
