Tesla Japan says that free-charging campaigns and other factors have caused a big surge in demand, disrupting the supply balance.
To handle the higher volume, Tesla introduced an AI agent into its delivery process in July. It automates tasks from order placement through vehicle handover.
The company has also begun importing through Mikawa Port in Aichi Prefecture alongside its existing route through Daikoku Wharf in Yokohama. The two-port setup increases annual import capacity to about 48,000 vehicles, roughly double what Tesla had before. evwire.com/p/tesla-japan-del…

Our FU Superchargers (Folding Unit) save 20%+ on cost, improve build quality, and deploy 2X faster.
The majority of cost savings are in civil, electrical and logistics cost. It's why we're spending so much time improving our pre-assembled Supercharger units.
With FU Superchargers, on-site work is further reduced, including no more DC busbar connection and no Tesla service technician needed for commissioning. We can ship 16 Supercharger posts per truck (previously 12), making the logistics cost of shipping pre-assembled Superchargers now cheaper than traditional construction 🤯.
This is just Rev1, we'll have Rev3 by next quarter. Every little improvement matters for the scale needed for 100% EV adoption.
Macrohard or Digital Optimus is a joint xAI-Tesla project, coming as part of Tesla’s investment agreement with xAI.
Grok is the master conductor/navigator with deep understanding of the world to direct digital Optimus, which is processing and actioning the past 5 secs of real-time computer screen video and keyboard/mouse actions. Grok is like a much more advanced and sophisticated version of turn-by-turn navigation software.
You can think of it as Digital Optimus AI being System 1 (instinctive part of the mind) and Grok being System 2. (thinking part of the mind).
This will run very competitively on the super low cost Tesla AI4 ($650) paired with relatively frugal use of the much more expensive xAI Nvidia hardware. And it will be the only real-time smart AI system. This is a big deal.
In principle, it is capable of emulating the function of entire companies. That is why the program is called MACROHARD, a funny reference to Microsoft.
No other company can yet do this.

Buyer beware: Matthews International stole Tesla's DBE technology and is now subject to an injunction and liable for damages.
During our work with Matthews, we caught them red-handed copying our technology—including proprietary software and sensitive mechanical designs—into products for other customers. For three years they lied about it, tried to hide their dishonesty, and continued to ship our technology to others. Recently, we obtained a permanent injunction preventing further theft from Tesla, with financial damages to be computed.
Matthews is now publishing complete nonsense to cover their tracks. To correct the record: Matthews was found liable for distributing Tesla’s technology into practically every substantial DBE machine they’ve sold, and their ridiculous claim of ownership over our patents is in active dispute.
Suppliers who exploit customer IP through theft or deception have no place in Tesla’s ecosystem—or in any ethical supply chain.

For non-Teslas using Superchargers, live availability is now in Google Maps. The next step for navigation providers is to go beyond live availability and also show real-time wait time, forecasted availability, and dynamically re-route customers based on forecasts. This is something Tesla Trip Planner has been doing for years. @TeslaCharging launched live availability in 2017, and it was later adopted in the "Open Charge Point Interface" standard. We support adding forecasted availability, when sharing traffic reciprocally, as part of this standard next.
Charging infrastructure should be both high utilization (for low prices) and available (for happy customers). This is why we’re always refining Tesla Trip Planner to efficiently balance demand across Superchargers. A good analogy: Tesla Trip Planner is like an air traffic controller, knowing where planes are, their intentions, and assigning them to airports and runways. Trip Planner knows where customers are routing, creates Supercharger usage forecasts, and gets everyone to their destination the fastest. It fully leverages existing infrastructure, which is especially important on busy travel days. Without this, we’d see avoidable congestion (as seen firsthand at U.S. airports now!), and an inefficient use of charging infrastructure CapEx.
Hence, reciprocal traffic sharing is key as more navigation providers support EV drivers. Not knowing incoming demand is like air traffic control not knowing what planes are inbound. We’re excited to work with navigation providers on getting this right for EV drivers, and going beyond live availability.
