As I watch ACC/Big 12 fans freak out over Big 2 collusion on this platform, I have to laugh. It reminds me of a column I wrote back in 2003. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Only the names are different.
UAB is introducing some new family-friendly ticket options to try to boost attendance. It's a good start. I have some thoughts:

Can you lose 72-0 and it still be an epic performance? Well, I was there for one. UAB had TWO (2!) players on full scholarship when it faced Kansas in 1994. And for a half, well, they hung in there.

I grew up watching NBA almost every night. Today's game is straight garbage. Walk walk walk carry walk gather lol zero lol walk some more you don't know ball hop sideways 10 feet walk some more jack a 3 flop. SHUT IT DOWN AND START OVER.

UAB had only two players on full scholarship. Kansas had 85. The final was 72-0.
But for a half in a Big Eight stadium, the Blazers belonged. @TheTimStephens was in the radio booth. He tells the story.
