Just here trying to be a pragmatic progressive in Philly and found all these people to follow on Instagram and now I'm unfollowing them because they support that fucking bike protest/boycott that's targeting Jewish businesses. Dammit

Even Ro Khanna just said Jeffries will be speaker and he supports him. Let it go. Hakeem will be speaker

To increase our schadenfreude: her rumored boyfriend is Tim Moore, the former NC house speaker responsible for much of NC's gerrymandering who also lost his race. May they share their misery on an island somewhere
Tricia Cotham, the North Carolina lawmaker who switched parties to Republican to vote for an abortion ban, has been defeated by a Democrat.

This might be the craziest election stat I've seen. Roy Cooper in North Carolina won his U.S. Senate seat before a ballot was cast Tuesday. His early vote total was more than everything Michael Whatley got.

One of my favorite things is the mayor of Cape May, NJ, beat Jeff Van Drew in his house race, and the Cape May facebook pages are all abuzz with very angry maga people complaining that the Cape May page is political (had van Drew won they would be fine w/it)

Never approach wildlife. You don't know what it's been through, and it doesn't know what you've been through. Neither of you needs this.

I guess that share of Google stock I bought years ago to feed me in my old age wasn’t that great after all

Important folks know the backstory of this ad. My twin brother, Andrew Robert Colom, @andrewcolom, wrote, directed, and produced this ad, and starred alongside me in it. (He's not AI). 😂 Kayland Partee (@KaylandPartee) did the cinematographer and helped with a lot of my great content. These 2 are another example of the awesome talent from and in the Sip!
Sinators. Happy Halloween! (this is a joke!)

My sister tells epic lies and when she was a kid she told her classmates I was in a terrible accident. I would have covered for her if she told me before one of them saw me at my house perfectly healthy. This was one of the least damaging lies to me but was quite bad for her
Does anyone else have trauma that's objectively kind of funny

Ok. Here's Abdul's excellent answer to an excellent question. You may not agree with his answer. But I defy you to reasonably call it antisemitic. If you hate him, all the more reason to watch this clip.
MSNOW: What is your message now to Jewish voters nationally and what you will do to protect them? Abdul El-Sayed: I’m committed to Jewish safety, and we are united against discrimination. The U.S. spends billions to carry out genocide and apartheid against Palestinians. The genocide in Gaza with our complicity is continuing right now. Nobody wants to talk about that.

I probably don't agree with everything he said. I think he discounts the importance of Israel to the Jewish community here and it's critical to the whole debate. But I still think he gave a thoughtful answer.

Update: Our lead has grown to 1,724.
Good morning from Mississippi! Our lead continues to grow, and we're now up by roughly 1,100 votes! We're confident Scott's lead will continue to grow as the remaining votes are counted. We're staying focused and protecting the integrity of our election.
