Mazen Aboulhosn is a former pres of the Lions Club & son of a former judge. He sexually assaulted his maid. "I was sleeping & he came into my room & tried to take off my PJs." She said he often walked around naked. He cut her contact with family & stopped paying🧵@LionsClubs
TIL was contacted by the family. A negotiator called Mazen who said she was happy and staying willingly. He said TIL had no right to ask about her salary and he'd warned the embassy who'd called. TIL was unaware of the rapes. In Feb 2022 she managed to escape! KAFA picked her up.
Nakhle Gabriel "Gabriel Services" is a recruiting agent. TIL has rec'd complaints of sexual assault by him from women of different nationalities. Their stories are remarkably similar. Gabriel forced them to perform oral sex on him. 1/4 @Roylea1Nakhle @DrEricRuto
Elham Lteif, Gabriel’s wife, beats the workers. "She took to me with a piece of pipe beating me all over." “The abusive wife beat me until my nose bled.” “When I went to the office they beat me and told me to go back to work. Other girls were watching crying.” @LteifElham 3/4
Mercy, Grace, Liz, Sylvie & others. Unknown to each other all with similar testimonies about Gabriel Services, a member of SORAL (syndicate of agents) operating under an MOL licence. Who will hold this abusive agency accountable? For full story: go.thisislbn.com/nakhle

🧵💔 story of injustice and resilience! The Keusseians enslaved their housemaid for 15+ yrs. No day off. No phone. No contact with any Nepalese. No pay for 9 yrs - until TIL took her case. She is fluent in Armenian but lost much of her Nepali. go.thisislbn.com/fulmaya

Alex Keusseian: "If I want, I can go back to paying her $100 [a mth] and no one can do anything. I am the owner of an international company. I have around 20 staff. I don't have time for this bullshit. Welcome to Lebanon." The family own CJ Lighting - has a bad credit history 2/3
100%.
"هنا في البناية الواقعة قربنا، قتلوا عاملة إثيوبية داخل المنزل. لم تقتل نفسها. في المنزل ضربوها، وربما ضربوها على رأسها بالخطأ. ماتت في المنزل. رموها في الليل من الشرفة، وبقيَت جثتها في الشارع حتى الظهر"

العاملات الأجنبيات في لبنان... جرائم بالجُملة ولا مَن يُحاسب
It’s like watching a train wreck about to happen and not being able to stop it.
The agreement does not include a minimum wage, relies on Lebanese laws which do not apply to migrant workers, and could open the way for passport confiscation

Rana bragged to the negotiator that her husband Qassem Bayram was a relative of Lebanon's Labour Minister Mustapha Bayram."Be reassured. If you want to sit with him, I'll be the first to arrange that."
