This thread is only a fraction of what I've seen & what people told me in Sagaing, Myanmar. If any editors would be interested in any stories about Sagaing, the people, fighters, refugees, war crimes, drone units etc, or if anyone know of any editors who might, my DMs are open!
I have just come back Myanmar 🇲🇲 where I spent two weeks traveling around the resistance-held territories of the Sagaing region. Its a remote region which no other foreign press has managed to visit since the start of the war five years ago. I'll share some impressions below 🧵

Unsurprising that the guy who left behind such a mess in Syria pays little mind to the people of Sudan and the Horn of Africa either.
How did UAE become the largest global provider of humanitarian aid to Gaza, according to UN data? Because of Lana Nussaibeh—a diplomat who knows everyone and works with them to GSD. She would be an inspired choice for this impossible job.

Major protests planned today in Venezuela 🇻🇪 following calls by the opposition to rally in favour of a true democratic transition. Regime-hardliner Diosadado Cabello has called for Chavista counter-protests. Could be a tense day.

Vucic seems to be replicating the failed Orban strategy of flying in far-right MAGA influencers to prop up his campaign. Voices who might influence a marginal foreign audience, but are sure to be completely irrelevant to undecided Serbian voters.
Blessed to be in Serbia. Let’s keep it Christian☦️

When Op. 4926 was declared pro-junta outlets were already celebrating the impending conquest of Rakhine state, but a month later the offensive has been an absolute failure. My latest for @WarFrontsWeekly on the failed junta offensive in Myanmar 🇲🇲 fronts.co/article/how-the-my…

From Saddam Haftar’s diplomatic breakthroughs and Ankara’s changing priorities in Tripoli to Greece’s attempts to counter Turkish influence, our reporting has followed a geopolitical realignment that culminated in Libya’s historic parliamentary vote on 20 October. Here’s a look back at seven key articles that tracked this shift. 🧵👇

Before going to Venezuela 🇻🇪 to report on the latest anti-Maduro protests in Caracas you often learn this map by heart to know where to run to if the Colectivos decide to show up.
🇻🇪 Caracas, Venezuela, has 42 diplomatic representations mapped across the city. The locations stretch from Altamira and Los Chorros in the north to Las Mercedes and San Román in the south, with a notable cluster around La Castellana.
