🇮🇩✨ Yesterday (17 August) was Indonesia’s Independence Day, and today we celebrated it in style with our Bo’a community!
This wonderful event was led by the Boa Rangers — a passionate group of local kids aged 10–16 👧👦, under our Rote Project team’s guidance!
Recently, our team joined the English Club of Bo’a Village in Rote for a day of mangrove planting along the coast of Fimok 🌱

Earlier this year, our founder Sarah, joined our partner Aqua Expeditions for a seven-day voyage through Raja Ampat. The trip aimed to develop initiatives that will strengthen our partnership & support for the Indonesian Manta Project.

We’ve kicked off the season by releasing 6 more pups for the StAR Project @resharkorg - each larger & stronger than before! 🦈
They have begun their new lives in the wild & equipped with acoustic tags, we’ll be tracking their movements for up to 5 years. More releases to come!

Today, we celebrate one of our favourite ocean dwellers! Over the past week, our Rote Project team has been fortunate to experience several #manta ray sightings, including one at Bo’a Corner and multiple at the cleaning station in Heliana. 🩵🩵
