On the 23rd of April the government is doing a test for emergency alerts which will make a loud siren-like sound. If you have a phone hidden from an abuser turn off 'Emergency Alerts' via settings to prevent it becoming detectable - this might vary based on Android and iPhone.

This is a practice drill in case of an emergency in your area, such as a natural disaster. It will make a siren like sound.
