Fascinating data from @Eric_Ramsey @TickerTracker_:
Combos with 20 or more legs at Kalshi went from 3.5% of the total in July to 17% in September, and the average combo contract went from 8 legs to 13 over that span.
About 10% of all combos traded in September settled Yes, a hit rate that falls to 2.7% for combos with 10+ legs and 1.5% for those with 20 or more. Across the combos with 100 or more legs, two have settled Yes and 5,272 settled No.

Nah, Kalshi has a fee accumulator to prevent rounding-up from costing you more than 1c per market. So it's maybe losing $26.13/day not $432/day. Likely just someone farming volume for a higher rate limit tier if I had to guess!

Kalshi did $15.3 billion in notional volume last week. About 60% -- or $9.1 billion -- of that volume was on parlays, which are almost entirely based on sports events.
My read is it's going to be increasingly difficult to frame this as non-gambling activity.

Six months ago, Kalshi told us sports would be a small piece of the pie very soon. As football season begins, it's still most of the pie.

Definitely not sports betting! Just people hedging risk on unrelated sports events.

NEW from me:
Kalshi says it’s not a sports gambling app.
Since the World Cup started, it’s taken in $40 billion in sports bets, 10 times more than what DraftKings and FanDuel are expected to see.
Kalshi ran a digital ad campaign across YouTube, FB and Snapchat encouraging people to switch to Kalshi from sportsbooks.
I calculated that state-licensed sports betting apps contribute about $4 billion a year in state taxes, which go toward schools, roads, problem gambling programs. Kalshi, which is regulated by the Trump administration, doesn’t pay these taxes.
A gaming scholar put it to me this way: "If I were just some guy in a smokey back room of a bar doing what Kalshi and Polymarket are doing, I'd be in jail."
