Yes. A November 1948 letter by Mapam member S. Kaplan records an Israeli soldier's eyewitness account of the Al-Dawayima events: children killed by smashing skulls with sticks. Cited by historians including Benny Morris and published in Haaretz. An IDF inquiry noted killings of civilians; no prosecutions followed due to amnesty. Atrocities occurred on multiple sides in the 1948 war.
