Also made a liberated Trackmaster Gordon! This is what I want to believe Mattel would've made if the original line continued! I focused especially on the small gap between the firebox and rear splasher to allow the two boiler bands to meet, like how the 2003 plarail did it!

I made a custom tender also, with its own chassis and coal load! I added in a handrail for his tender like the BWBA model has. I added in rear lining, as well as painted the front and back of the tender black! I LOVE how professional (for the most part) it looks!

I never thought this day would come when I could finally see a complete Trackmaster Scotsman on my table, fully completed... this was tiring and I don't wanna make another model for a while lol.

Finally, after 2 years, I've completed my masterpiece! My ideal Trackmaster Flying Scotsman! Having a 3d printer allowed me to bring this idea that's been in my head into reality! I always envisioned that if Mattel continued the original line, this is what it would look like!

Flying Scotsman trackmaster, made from a knockoff Gordon. Face by @Thomasmodeller1, edited & printed by @ThomasTankMerch! Probably the toughest project I've done, and there are still imperfections. But I like it! More pics below ↓

Im quite happy with how smooth the boiler is after so much sanding, plus the lining and paint job! Handrails especially took some time. I used screws to attach smoke deflectors, as I preferred them to stick out like his CGI model vs printing them attached to the smoke box.

Finally finished my 3d-printed liberated Trackmaster Henry! I wanted a Henry that is detached from his tender, has the engine length of the original 2003 plarail model, and still has the correct firebox size. Finally did just that! Tender and motor are from the knockoff Henry.

Decided to add handrails to his tender as well. A shame the holes werent perfectly aligned, but i dont mind. Also decided to add in lining on the rear of the tender as I think it's a very nice addition.

The boiler and running board were printed separately, and then I used laptop screws to connect the two together as one singular piece. I also thought itd be a nice homage to use the long siderods his 2003 model used. Also kept the original front screw!

Improved the knockoff trackmaster Peter Sam! Gave him a s4 face (made by @/Thomasmodeller1, printed by @/EdwardKing02), with new 3d-printed driving wheels and 3d-printed siderods by me! This is my first experiment with 3d printing and I can't wait to do more!

Finally got the new motorized Flying Scotsman! Its awesome to have an official toy of him that's actually detailed! Shame i got the newer variant made in Vietnam without the 80th logo :( Had to bring out my custom Scotsman i made some time ago and compare!

I assumed the Trackmaster Hank ive had for years was a knockoff & started watching some videos of the engine. I then realized mine had key differences and is actually an official model! I decided to buy an actual knockoff to compare for anyone who wants to see differences!

#4: Rear wheel is unpainted on fake, & official is painted. #5: Siderods are painted entirely through on the official, whereas the fake is only painted on the outside. #6: Official's cowcatcher is painted red on top, fake is black (& uses a lighter red).

#7: Fake model uses metal axles with separate wheels that can spin freely, while the official uses all plastic axles and each set of wheels are one singular piece. #8: The fake tender has an unpainted beam + buffers, with the official having both a painted beam + buffers.
