I don’t know if we can have a heaven on earth, but I know we need not have hell on earth… Our foolish leaders spend their days telling us who to fear, blame, despise, & destroy. They’re promoting a fantasy that has never worked.

When I look at what's happening in politics this year, I think candidates with a little Leslie Knope in them seem to be doing well. People want to elect nerdy folks who really care, who work really hard, who aren't in love with holding office, but are in love with public service.
Anybody wonder if the Amish communities are gonna be the last man standing? Like the rest of us will show up going, "Hey, does your stuff still work? None of our stuff works."

Besides being nakedly racist and bigoted, this is just hilariously wrong on all levels.
I mean, Omar Yaghi won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry last year, and he won the Wolf Prize in 2018. And that's just one example.
He also said Arabs don't produce any literature. Last year's winner of the National Book Award was Lebanese writer and painter Rabih Alameddine. The winner in non-fiction? Egyptian-American journalist Omar El Akkad.
