We fear Gordon Brothers, the owners are corporate raiders who are deliberately forcing an unnecessary administration using friendly receiver, so they can keep stores open to Xmas, so sell the stock, but not pay any suppliers, rates or HMRC etc.
They just bank the sales then force liquidation.
Retail raiders are well known for doing this.
The Govt should consider court appointed independent administrator to prevent this: there are funded buyers wanting to buy the Group
We have not mentioned using taxpayers money: our position is to protect taxpayers and help the workers

I have never really indulged the @RestoreBritain Tory link because I just don’t know enough about it.
But I am astonished at how readily Kemi gives Rupert Lowe a pass. He runs a party that welcomes antisemites and strong ethnonationalist views. Most of his supporters probably want Kemi out of parliament if not deported. He does absolutely nothing to condemn these opinions.
Kemi completely knows this. She knows there is a clear difference with @reformparty_uk that’s why Restore even exists. To play the victim when Reform supporters throw insults while ignoring Rupert’s toxic leadership beggars belief.
It just doesn’t make sense, something very fishy going on here.

I’ve been one of @KemiBadenoch’s staunchest media supporters since 2022, and I think she’s doing a fantastic job as Tory leader. However, I do not shy away from being a critical friend.
Yoy cannot condemn @Nigel_Farage and @reformparty_uk for making an issue of your race/ethnicity, then hold up @RupertLowe10 as an example of colourblind conservatism.
My sources tell me Tory HQ and Restore HQ are very chummy. Yet some of @RestoreBritain’s most vocal online supporters are also among the most viciously racist towards Kemi. And I often defend her against them.
There were countless better ways to answer that question. IMHO, this is a maternity-pay-is too generous-level @TimesRadio @KateEMcCann assisted gaffe. This was completely voluntary.
Thank God it wasn’t on BBC, Sky, ITV, Times or LBC. The fallout would have been far bigger.
One thing I will give Kemi credit for is that these gaffes are becoming much less common. And I commend the progress which has been made!
